Eh. Not as much as you'd seem to think.
Over the course of a near 40 year career with 15~ shows and several movies, he's used it in maybe five and largely as a one-off infiltration gag. Not even like he's the guy who invented it either. It's just one he dusts off from time to time.
No weird fetish or anything, just one of those little plays at humor that made its way into his work as well.
