I just finished Gundam ZZ and I'm left with only one question:Did Haman want to fuck Judau or what?
In the end I was supersized how much better than Zeta it turned out to be.

I dunno if I'd say I liked them the same, but I liked them about as much. Both aren't that bad, there are far worse shows out there, though there are also much better shows out there by the same tac and I prefer 0079 (And Victory, for that matter).

Granted, the show didn't really hit it's stride until they got to Earth, and there was very little space politics involved, but when things started picking up it was really good, and I actually cared about most of the main crew this time.

I think so, yes. Haman couldn't admit it to herself, but she was looking for any release she could find. Judau would have been perfect, for one fleeting second of freedom. But no, Judau wouldn't go along, and in the end, after the moment was over, Haman would have gone back into the role of the Thatcher she had built for herself.
It was Puru she would have wanted to trade parts with, really.

Haman was searching for a father and to her Char was a man that could of became a father to her. In Zeta, she thought Kamille could of become that father as during that Newtype dream flash she saw Kamille as Char. This extended to Judau as he was one of the few men the resisted her.

also people saying that ZZ was good arent wrong but it sure as shit has a different tone from most gundams until basically the final stretch. while i will say it is a good gundam show its not the best by any means. many plot points really go nowhere and the character interaction is just as akward as any tomino gundam, if not a little different.
to me, it says a lot about what people from /m/ enjoy when theres so many kamen rider other toku threads constantly up. so i can see why so many people here enjoy the goofy and odd episodes that harshly stray from the tone of every other gundam show

If she was just dick-hungry, she wouldn't need Judau. She's a god damned dictator, she can satiate any lust of hers she wants easy. She wanted something a lot deeper like a companion or a partner, but couldn't trust anyone in Neo Zeon or anywhere else for that matter. Especially when she secretly hated Zeon and is only running Neo Zeon to take Zeon down from the inside and crush it along with the rest of the old world order. Plus she has a lot of hangups about men in general being users and abusers, but saw Judau as being the pure and good intentioned guy that he was.

They went to Jupiter so that they could be gone from the Earth Sphere for at least 4 years and be out of the picture when CCA happened, so ppl wouldn't be like "where is Judau and why isn't he saving the world?"
Puru 2 died on the bridge from her injuries while guiding Judau home.
Beecha liked Elle all show long. Elle liked Judau though, so Beecha never made a move. But Elle also liked Beecha, so Judau never made a move. Elle eventually gives up on Judau and recognizes her feelings for Beecha.

I was honestly OK with this decision. In a movie, you've only got so much screentime to divide up among the cast. Keeping the focus of the film intentionally tight so that it is only about Amuro & Char was the right idea.
The problem with CCA is that, while sacrificing the cast of Zeta and ZZ on that altar, it gets replaced with not a bunch of Amuro & Char, but with fucking Hathaway and Quess, so it was kinda all for nothing. Glad Tomino learned from his mistakes though, because F91 is all Seabook/Cecily all the time, and it's great.

To be fair too, Judau kind of had a one track mind the whole show about getting his sister back, so that didn't help either. And by the finale, he's laser focused on Haman b/c of their harmonizing, so Elle probably didn't stand much of a chance. But yea, there are several points where Judau rebuffs Elle directly in ZZ where he's like "Go hang out with Beecha, you like him right?" and she gets flustered.

there was hardly ever camp in 0079. barring the punching zaku episode the whole thing seemed pretty serious. never watched the movie trilogy so maybe that's where you get that idea from
