I love G-Reco, and I will argue to my grave that most of its 'problems' aren't actually problems. But the ending is rushed. Insomuch that they have like 5 minutes to decompress and cover what the entire cast is doing post-battle. 5 minutes isn't actually a rushjob. It's better than what a lot of anime gets! But choosing to spread that time out evenly among the cast makes it feel rushed b/c you end up with like 20 seconds for each character, which is barely enough for a line or two of dialog. Where as had they decided to just follow Bellri around and not change perspectives, as he says goodbye to people, that probably would have felt a lot less rushed. Like, just follow him scrambling through the Megafauna as he hastily says bye to a bunch of people doing largely the same things they were during the epilogue, and you get the same info conveyed while also not feeling rushed.

Showing not telling is fine. I stood by that manta for the entire show. But for the ending specifically, you're only shown what happens to some characters for like 5 seconds before we abruptly move onto the next vignette. That's not really enough time to even process what you were shown before you have to start looking and analyzing something else. Especially when every scene is super dense with information and imagery.

The epilogue didn't need to be longer, we didn't need an animal house style thing telling us all the details especially as most is obvious.

I liked that. As soon as everyone who actually wanted the war died, they stopped. A new generation being able to move on and not make the same mistakes as their predecessors is one of the major themes.

It only really felt rushed when Klim said he would get payback for Mick then completely vanished from the rest of the fight. I guess there originally was a part where he would have challenged Manny and her G-Rach that was cut with probably both units taking too much damage to keep fighting.
