We did it, boys. The SpaceX rocket launched into orbit, separated its second stage (which them deployed all its satellites), then fell back to Earth and LANDED undamaged.

That's nice and all, but let's move onto more important subjects, like me telling you how much I dislike G-Reco and IBO.

According to Gundam 00XX Revisionist Zeonwank, we can't create the space colonies until we find a marginalized group on Earth to forcibly shunt into space as slave labor.

In our reality, it will be the last white flight. As all the white people leave earth with the Japanese and Koreans.

Then we drop Axis on them.

yay

semi-related there's a rocket launch coming up Feb 7, 4pm on a Sunday according to http://spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/
might be a good target to look at for that Florida /m/eetup idea. I'll start digging around about how the weather that day usually is, not that it'll be relevant this year so much. When was the last big El Nino?
>>
>>13656369
okay, checked a few nino-ated years' Feb 7ths, they seem to all come up with no rain in Melbourne at least

http://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-suspends-2016-launch-of-insight-mission-to-mars

>After thorough examination, NASA managers have decided to suspend the planned March 2016 launch of the Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) mission. The decision follows unsuccessful attempts to repair a leak in a section of the prime instrument in the science payload.

>“Learning about the interior structure of Mars has been a high priority objective for planetary scientists since the Viking era,” said John Grunsfeld, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington. “We push the boundaries of space technology with our missions to enable science, but space exploration is unforgiving, and the bottom line is that we’re not ready to launch in the 2016 window. A decision on a path forward will be made in the coming months, but one thing is clear: NASA remains fully committed to the scientific discovery and exploration of Mars.”

But can their reusable space rockets be launched en masse and do Itano Circuses?

it's like when the Rocket Punch flies back on the arm, they itano out, smash the other guy, the itano back in

And you can move Mazinger around and it'll connect back nicely with no problems.

Meanwhile, they can't land a rocket on a ship because the ship is rocking.

To tell the truth I am still completely skeptical of the feasibility of their FULLY REUSABLE ROCKET

Especially with video which make me cringe with their arrogant music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSF81yjVbJE

It remind me of naives morons who believe of Mars as a future american NEW FRONTIER for PIONEERS fleeing the EVIL GOVERNMENT !

But anyway...
I'm more skeptical of the economic behind than the technology. I don't believe they'll achieve all that AND keep it cheaper/more reliable than Expendable Launch System.
However, that's because I expect Airbreathing SSTO spaceplane to ultimately achieve better, and if it is harder than I thought to achieve hypersonic SCRAMJET the SpaceX way might stuck in.

Don't dare dream about Space Elevator, for Earth at least it is a dead end.

[/rambling off]
>>
>>13659691
eh, just think of it as a stepping stone. If the cost to stick stuff in space gets cheaper, we'll stick more stuff out in space including our selves. This'll need more infrastructure and support which will ultimately spawn the growth and development of more economic launch systems to increase profit margins on the ever increasing volume and competition of the market
>>
>>13659637

Why not? Australia is a great country that is neither belligerent or troublesome in anyway internationally and mostly just keeps to itself while enjoying a good economy. It's doing pretty well for itself considering how it started out.
>>
>>13659802
This your reminder that a nuclear warhead detonating in the air between Perth and Sydney would completely wipe out 99% of all shitposting.
>>
>SpaceX

A company so inept, that their rockets blow up seconds after launch in our current era.

>>13659830

NASA killed a bunch of people by this point.
It's like SpaceX isn't even trying
>>
>>13660220
Out of 17 deaths in space, 14 are NASA's fault.

On the other side, those 14 all kind of blew up pretty quickly, while the other 3 died of decompression in their cabin.
>>
>>13660220

When SpaceX managed to rack up as many launches then you can shit on NASA. It's still one of the better ran government agencies out there. Don't forget most of the business they are getting will be from NASA anyway. It's good to have another competitor from the traditional big aerospace companies, but let's not hype this like another unicorn web 2.0 company.

Funny way to spell ESA.
The only reason we aren't launching crewed mission with Ariane 5 is that we don't need it, plus it wouldn't be friendly to compete with Soyuz.

Aren't they carving an empire for themselves in the pacific islands like Nauru to dump boat people?
Its only a matter of time before they go East India Company on the neighbourhood.
