Rather wargame-ish, think X-Com but with a more linear progression of unlocked units and equipment.
I think the basic rules aren't actually that hard to learn but the games have rather brutal learning curves anyway. Doesn't help that proper mech loadout is a huge factor between having a rough time in a mission or not and they don't really teach you how to do it - you'll fail the first mission 20 times until you get it right, then suddenly it'll be smooth sailing for a bit until they take off the kid's gloves in the late-game missions

Kind of sad it's too obscure to get a fantranslation - I think it actually wouldn't be that hard - it's not exactly a really plot-heavy game and most of the text is perhaps a couple of paragraphs of mission situational information and objectives.
