It's not a bad way to bolster a unit's moveset, but the attack power on most of them is too low. 2nd OGs also nerfed the fuck out of things like the Shishio Blade and Graviton Launcher, so I think there were only 3 or 4 equippable weapons, if that, that could break 6k at 15 upgrades. In OGs, there were a lot more (anything that could reach 4700 at 10 upgrades could hit 6k at 15 with the relevant -fight skill).

What mode are you playing? Plus Mode (a.k.a starting the game from Start2.eve)?

It's the command at the top here. Only the leader can Persuade and success chance is based off it's CurHP / MaxHP

If you're playing Cross Mode (starting the game from Start3.eve), then you recruit new units by finishing them off with your leader.

There's 3 modes - in order of earliest to most recent

1) Classic - Endless

2) Plus - 30 Floors with a Final Boss

3) Cross - 30 Floors with a Final Boss

It is a mystery.

You can be the first to try it out - to get it running, you need Visual Basic 5 runtime and to set your system locale and the "Formats" setting (i.e the system date etc should be in Japanese) BOTH to Japanese (miss doing one and it'll crash). I don't know what the exact steps for doing that in Win10 is.

It's not common in old games (thus the Zaku thing, because yeah, it's a result of sprite flipping), but actually making new sprites for the units is a lot more common nowadays. Hell, Z3 did it for a minor sprite issue at one point that no one would have given a shit about if they hadn't fixed it, and it was fucking Z3!

There is no Cavalier 0 equivalent for the Lifter 1. The Lifter pack fits over some of the space the Cavalier sits in. So that's pretty much a no. ...until Dragonar 1 Custom, because there is a Cavalier equivalent for that designed, although I don't think the show ever used it? It's going to be useable. Of course, by that point, Dragonar 1 has a very long range finisher and missiles, so it's of suspect use, but hey, it'll be there.

Because the Divine Crusaders already exist in universe and are on the side of the Earth Federation. I mentioned this at one point. There's a couple of people in the series on the cast lists who are members of it, like the head of GEAR and Vega's adoptive father from Dendoh, Maedasaki from Reideen, Dr. Sonada from Dual!, and some of 3G's higher ups. also some people not on the cast list, like Banjo Haran and Klein Sandman.

Also, most of the villain factions won't work with Zeon. Current faction split looks like:

>Gaizock + Galfa

Most of those forces hate each other, too, there's different factions fighting each other a few times a la W - for instance, after NINGEN BAKUDAN happens, you end up having a scenario where you work together with Zeonos to kill the fuck out of them more efficiently because no human side wants that shit anywhere near them.

We have had SRWs do G Gundam without the tournament, a variant of G Gundam where the tournament is still being set up when most of the stuff is handled, and post plot. I spent a long time in the restroom right now so I started thinking about my life and family, then hobbies and SRW.
I started thinking about what they could change in the animations. With Z and Z2 especially, they greatly improved animations, like by adding changes depending on whether the units are on ground or flying.
What do you think they'll improve animation wise for the next games? And do they even have the means to be able to do so? How big are the animation teams working on SRW these days? As much as I loved Z3 and was throughly satisfied I have to admit they half-baked a few things, most probably because of lack of money time and personnel.

I've been thinking that they could change attack animations depending on unit size. Of course certain attacks have signature moves so they can't change them completly and need to follow the source material. But At the very least they could do it in OG. That way some attack/target matchups will look less ridiculous. Some attacks will always look weird though, either because they're wacky on purpose, or because it's combinations attacks involving the targeted unit getting juggled, like in EDN.

Then, how about ditching 2D and going for cel shaded 3D? Really good 2D looking 3D like GG Xrd these days.

...is incredibly expensive. Xrd was pretty much the hard and expensive parts of 2D married to the hard and expensive parts of 3D.

That said, extravagant 2D animations on a very niche series when the home market is collapsing is clearly not a winning prospect in the long term. I have the feeling someone is sitting and taking a long look at what they can cut back for the next games.

Wing's advantage is in numbers. All the Wing boys (and Zechs IIRC) have AG's equivalent of friendship with each other, which boosts their damage, and all of the Gundams have at least a passable finisher in terms of power. Stick them near each other and watch the fireworks go.

Starter choices always the same (though different modes have different choices)

Cross Mode (Start3) does give you like 10 Gacha Coins right at the start though for you to pull your random units.

Nah. Looking at it there were numerous issues with using ZERO at that time, primarily that the manga was still running and they didnt have a good cut off point while Z3 was being made and it was was too late storywise to introduce Minerva X.

Kaiser however was hinted at by Zeus telling Kouji that Mazinger had the ability to go beyond God or Devil, Mazinger getting infused by getter rays which is Mazinger became Kaiser in F Final and that true power of Mazinger in the teaser.

Only in a "dimension hoping" and "ebul spess dimenshun final boss" case, but even then, ZERO was still stuck in the ponderous limbo of "welp, time to universe hop AGAIN" without having much of developed plot to really use or base anything off of.

And really, Tengoku didn't need another excuse to dimension hop. Their money would have been better served getting a license that could offer an actual plot and content in Tengoku - both of which ZERO is sorely starved of.

It'd be like weapon FUBs and custom bonuses from the older days. At X weapon upgrades, you unlock Y extra weapons. (And then theoretically they stick around on NG+ even if the upgrades don't).

Assuming the games aren't completely fucked in terms of funds they give you, this allows replayability in that you will be getting more new attacks each playthrough from the people you didn't focus on in past runs.

I only really know of one Midi site and it's really annoying as hell to use.

The annoying part is that it only allows you to download a batch file sorted by alphabetical order that "rotates" once every minute or so and you got to camp at the site to collect them all

There's also this Sound Pack here made by SRC community members, although they seem to just randomly throw in music from non-Mecha series for the hell of it (why the hell is there Digital Devil Saga, Street Fighter 2 and Fire Emblem in this?)

Hey, I'm working on a SRW plot too. The problem is that I haven't seen enough mecha shows to put together a cast list that I know will work with the story I'm thinking of. So far, the series list I have is:

This is not enough series. A few handheld games have had 11 series+OG plot, but all of the UC Gundam plots are going to kind of kind of fuse together in a massive clusterfuck, as they often do. There are also only 4 supers, not including the Super protagonist.

Anyway, the gist of the plot is that no fewer than 3 factions of ayy lmaos are invading and competing with one another for control of Earth. The OG alien empire has allied itself with a number of radical Earth factions, most notably Zeon. As this is all going on, corporations like Viltriveld and Salty Dog (and, of course, more OGs) have been using really sketchy-ass practices in the course of their weapons development, and the Earth Federation has to stop them from achieving their agendas, too. Any suggestions?
