Really most of the shitposting we've seen since this started are angry butthurt trolls left over from the first Build Fighter season who won't go away because the first... what was it? 200 threads that covered the original Build Fighters threads were filled with trolls who got ignored, then when BF:Try came out and G-Reco did as well, what ended up happening were those trolls trying their hardest to instigate a fanbase war, that didn't work, but the G-Reco shitposting did work and now they're making up for a year of ignored trolling with all of this.

We knew before the show ever started that it was stated to immediately follow UC. All the complaints about the pacing, characters, designs, etc happened after we found that out. Before we knew that, the only thing we had seen was one promo pic of an early design for the G-Self. On top of that, we've known since '99 that all regular Gundam shows are set in the same universe. Only SD, Zeta:ANT's ending, and Build Fighters aren't in, so there are no "alternate universe" stories anymore and only oldtypes who refuse to change with the times still call them AU.
Finally, the only people who say it's the best show ever are lying to piss you off. Have fun falling for it every god damn day.

like with every Gundam show people made up there minds the second we got the announcement that they were gonna hate it. It wasn't full Age level of salt at the at the time, but that's only because we had multiple announcements that was spread over. Basically, too many people were ready to kill themselves at the sight of the CGI guntank for all the shit posting start before episode 1 and the shitty translations kinda sealed deal and so we have something hated more than Valrave and Age combined.

What made matters worse is that a lot of people hyped for it in the initial threads expected and had their sights on this being Turn A Gundam 2: The Prequel. We didn't get that show so even hyped to all hell over it were got salty over it not being what they wanted instead of over what it actually is.

Tomino expressly stated in an interview that G-Reco immediately followed the end of the Universal Century. When asked "what happened at the end of the Universal Century?" he replied "I don't know, you'd have to ask RC historians." This wasn't a misunderstanding, he clearly indicated that Reco happened right after UC. Then he later trolled everyone by stating at a panel that it was 500 years after Turn-A and laughed when one of the people on the panel tweeted (during the panel) that he'd known about it all along.

In addition, statements derived from a Gundam Exhibition catalog containing an interview with Tomino have provided horrific descriptions regarding a portion of humanity referred to as the Kuntala. These people were used as a food source as humanity began to teeter on the brink of extinction, resorting to cannibalism in their most desperate moments. Tomino has stated that the Kuntala serve as a representation of “The problem of racism, the horrors of the collapse of society, and the depths of human sin.”

Turn A seems like it would be set in the early reguild century as humanity begins to recover after everything went to hell at the end of the UC. And then reconguistas events are well into the Reguild century as technology makes its way back to earth and development happens once more even if its restrained somewhat

The Gundam Ace column has talking him about how he wants to make this mech series that ISN'T Gundam. It DOESN'T say that it takes place "immediately after UC" The G stood for fucking GRAVITY back then. It only had anything to do with Gundam or UC much later in development.
The fucking head line is "Director discusses robot project's status & he distances it from Gundam:" for Pete's sake.
