If you want to stay close to the Japanese pronunciation, Muh-cross. But Macross is supposed to evoke the word "Macro." The OP has the lyrics "Piercing the macro sky," and there's the distinction between the "micro" humans/microns/miclones and the "macro" aliens. So I think Mack-ross is the implied English pronunciation.
