Me. Got it on the 4th and play as much as I can. 90 hours in and I am basically almost finished with all the Normal quests post chapter 9, going to go into chapter 10 soon.
I have every Affinity mission done up to this point and every character is around the right level.
The side quests are actually fucking amazing. I do the main quest really just to open up more side quests.

I'll still look into post-game content, but I seriously want to get as close to 100% as possible before finishing the game.
It really feels like a grand adventure.
Also, I love how I was spoilered on every major plot twist but it doesn't matter because the side quests are blowing my fucking mind. I had no ideaNLA basically becomes a safe-haven for like 7 different alien races, and all the consequences/benefits that come along with that. So fucking cool. Is there any other game that does this?

What class are you playing guys?
Played FullMetal Jaguar, it was really a fun class and even did a lot of damages, then tried Blast Fencer because it was the most /m/ class and the weapons were cool but almost all the arts uses the TP.
I think the best melee class have to equip the dual swords from FMJ's class with the sniper from Galactic Knight or the assault rifle from Samurai Gunner.

Once I got a skell it seems like classes don't really matter at all, I think I leveled the entire Full Metal Jaguar without really looking at my arts, Im guessing I'll max out most classes this way just for the sake of maxing them.

Here's my tip for Blast Fencer/Galactic Knight. Master Duellist and equip the Ramjet Rifle as your ranged weapon, you're doing a burst of three shots that generate 300 TP each every 10 seconds, you can spam TP skills for days. Astral Heal + Astral Horizons makes the class an actually competent healer, by Xenoblade standards. I'm using the Photon Saber + Ramjet Rifle while I level other classes for their skills.
Also boosting Beam damage by 50% is hilarious.

I've heard some of the level 60 custom skells can be better because they can use super weapons and shit, but the Ares 90 is basically the fastest and easiest way to cheese the game. The other shit requires much more grinding.

It makes it a real pain in the ass to raise the affinity of 14 characters and keep them all leveled up when the game wants you to be using 2 of them at almost all times.
I haven't even touched Gwin, Boze, Lao, Alexa, or Irina because I've been trying to level characters like Doug, Yelv, and Hope between the endless slog of Lin and Elma.

I'm pre-Ch 6 here, and have just been locking in Elma, LaoGotta max that affinity while I can., and alternating through everyone else trying to level them all to the same target level.I'm sure when Lao "departs" I'll probably do the same with the two spaces I have left.Hopefully that will help things move along a bit quicker.

Ares falls far behind a beefed up lvl.60 skell armed with a super weapon and also far behind a properly outfitted human.
What makes Ares truly shine are the Agni gatling guns, which do ridiculous amounts of damage for a comparatively tiny amount of fuel. Perfect for lengthy high-level monster farming sessions.
Wouldn't expect the sequel until 2017 at the very earliest.

Well I always bring Elma and Lin with me so when I hit level 30, they do the same. By abusing G-Buster and E-Scythe with level 30 Skell it's easy to level up.
The same with 4th member. They will gain exp even if they're dead so they can take a nap while my main 3 skell team taking on level 50 mob. I just finished Boze's recruitment mission, then I brought him along when I decided to explore Sylvalum and killing Pugiliths there for Skell drops. He was already level 33 when I kick him out of the party.

The mech Ares was based off of leveled the fleet anon, Ares is a production off of it using human tech.
Vita is a command type mech of the Ganglion/Growth armada.

Don't accept gathering quests until you already have all the items. It just wastes your slot, and since it doesn't tell you where the items are, there's no benefit to it. Just hoard like crazy and cash in those quests as you see them.

Updated my Skell with two packs of funnels.
I hadn't noticed their price the first time I was buying weapons, but their actual damage output in battle is pretty ridiculous compared to everything else. I'm not easily beating enemies with more than 10 levels on my character.
Just 2 level more before I can buy level 50 Skell. My money isn't enough for an Amdusias though. But the sweet thing is I already got level 50 G2 Buster, Escythe, and Phoenix from the Puges.
What's the difference between G and G2 Buster? The force stat is lower in G2.

I'm somewhat confused with force stat numbers. Because escyhte numbers are pretty low like G2 Buster I assumed the numbers are for just one hit and not the entire attack pattern (if said pattern has more than one hit)

I wish Skell combat was more balanced. Both in how it plays out (simply binding every now and then and spamming your strongest attacks in any order) and how it destroys everything that isn't a gigantic super enemy flawlessly.
Fought against the ch.7 boss mech with my skell and I destroyed her in seconds. Really wanted a climactic badass mech showdown but it was underwhelming.

For the Off The Record mechanical mission I got my ass handed to me by the lvl50 thing in sylvalum twice, then I managed to start the battle with a bind, got another one, and the whole thing was over really fast with everyone still on high HP. Luckily I have no idea how binding works or how to trigger it otherwise it'd probably be all too easy.

I had a climatic mecha showdown before that, doing the Celeste normal mission.By the end, with 3 Skells vs my party, I had to leave my own finish one of them on foot, then hop back in to finish the battle. When you add the scenario before that, it's one of the most memorable battles in the game so far to me.

Personally, I can't read Japanese and while I do interested in learning it, there's a big chance I won't be able to in my lifetime. I don't want to bet that there will be a day when I master Japanese and able to play any games that were butchered by localization in their "true" form. Nor I want to bet on hacking/modding/emulation community.
Now let's just say that if the Japanese version is 100% and localization butchered and ruined the game until it's just 80% or even 70% of the original, I'll take it. Still better than 0% (that is your total boycott stance over few things that reduced the value).
If I'm hyped over the game, I'd play it even if it has things gone that reduced the total value. Still better than not playing and experiencing the game at all. I hope I can play the "true" version of the game someday, but who knows if that day ever comes in my live.

You pretty much need to use all your duplicator and boost probes, and in areas with many scenic viewpoints discovered to get your revenue higher. The best locations are the 4 way intersections in Oblivia and the last continent (Caldam or something, can't remember its name).

Amdusias is the most hilarious Skell of all because it lets you play the game straight-up Duo Maxwell-style. The scythe from behind does upwards of thirty-forty times your base attack and will basically one-shot anything below level 40, giant or not. I did parts you're supposed to do as stealth segments by walking up behind one enemy at a time in my giant robot and scything them to kill them instantly. It's fucking great.

The difference between divisions is what raises your BLADE rank fastest. Pathfinder and then switching to Curator once you've planted most of the probes is probably the fastest way to grind it up.
When raising your field skills, always do Mechanical first, since it lets you plant probes and those are how you get most of your money. I did Archaeological next and saved Biological for last.

If it makes you feel any better, there's a boss called the Rexoskell at the end of an end-game quest chain.
By far the hardest boss I'd faced in the game. Even the final boss who I fought right after finishing that quest chain was easy as fuck in comparison.
I tried over and over to beat it with my FMJ build, but couldn't get it below 70%.
Then I switched back to Mastermind (the first class I leveled) and simply used Irina's art that she gives you. Repair, and Barrier to outlast the bitch and beat her. It was intense but it worked.
What really helped is Repair. The boss puts a debuff on you that slows the CD of all your ARTS, but with Repair I just used it on myself and wiped it off as soon as I got it.
So Mastermind definitely has a niche. It just won't blow you away like some of the other classes will.

Ga Jiarg in chap 9 was really hard when you do it with only the first mecha.
I failed 7/8 times against him, everytime on his phase 3
(phase1 being him + Ga Buidhe on their mecha/ phase 2 for him alone until x % then P3 for the guards coming to help him, p4 for killing him)
Then I decided to buy an Amdusias and give it to Hope because she kept dying, gave my skells to Elma, and killed the boss on the first try.
It's like I went from a hard mode to an easy mode.
Does the last boss also need you to have the last gear purchasable in the shop or the lasts models of skells to kill him?

Amdusias and Mastema are the only buyable Skells worth buying. Dodging doesn't work very well at all compared to tanking, and the E-Scythe on the Amdusias is the first OHKO weapon. You'll want to go to the Ganglion base at south Sylvalum and grind the Puges and Pugiliths there for the G-Buster, G2-Buster and Phoenix weapons they drop. Take the orange rarity ones, sell everything else. An orange-rarity Phoenix will make grinding so much easier.
Also, if you had any trouble at all with Ga Jiarg, you'd better grind the shit out of everything before starting Chapter 10 because the Zu Pharg is an utter monster of a boss if you're not prepared.

I killed Ga Jiarg a little over level 40, went for Zu Pharg right away after that and got rekt. If you get a Phoenix it's pretty straightforward to grind to level 50 by going to Site 402 over and over and killing the pack of Villainous Caecus there led by Andrea the Famished Hunter.
That said, level 50 Skells are crazy expensive even if you have a pretty solid FrontierNav income, I was only able to afford one. If you're going to get one, get it for yourself and just make sure the rest of the party is running level 30 Mastema or Amdusias. Definitely trade the scythe for a G-Buster on any NPC Amdusias, though, they can't place themselves for shit.

The Rexoskell is pure bullshit. Was really hard for me. The only thing I can suggest is to stack Electricity and Beam resistance, mostly the latter. She has this one attack that launches these invisible mini drones that shoot lasers at you that does a fuckload of damage.
When I picked up the G2-Buster I expected it to make a huge shockwave after using the G-Buster for so long.
I was completely wrong and I'm glad I was, the way the G2-Buster gets used is pretty cool.
So this is my first time on /m/ and when i saw a Xenoblade thread i thought it wouldnt hurt.
I cleared the game yesterday and i dont know where to start doing the post game stuff. Still dont have Mia as i still have yet cleared Definian Downfall, was level 47 when i started the mission but decided to do it after beating the game. Post game is mainly crafting for level 60 Skells and gears, and also superweapons. Level 60 stuff are all not available in store and need to be crafted.
But if you have side & affinity missions to do then go ahead and finish them. I found the side missions more interesting than the main story.
And do check support mission on online console in Blade's Barrack. There are many missions there that will help you gaining exp/class exp/money/miranium/affinity quickly.
