Yeah it's the strongest protag unit post-upgrade (Vorlent is stronger pre-upgrade in my opinion) but in the terms of a speedrun I feel that the low movement will just be a burden.

Granteed has the benefit of having good range to counterattack from while still maintaining good damage while also having stats that make it inclined to be attacked by the AI.

And the movement speed is nothing some boosters or Accel casts (especially since it's cheap as fuck in this era of SRWs) can't fix.

In a speed run you shouldn't move anyway. It is much faster to just end the turn and hold the R key while killing everything with counterattacks.

Selecting your robots one by one to move them and then manually selecting attacks takes far too long.

1. This is PoJ, Fang actually got nerfed in terms of his dodging abilities in CotE
2. The instadodge skill got ridiculously buffed in CotE to the point it's hilarious to see it proc on damn near everything.

CotE fixed a lot of shit that PoJ fucked up. The instadodge was merged from two skills into one (although 4 skill slots isn't enough), enemy density was increased (but the level curve is still bad), not as many enemies are HP sponges (just giants and 2x2s), attack costs were severely-reduced (although the tradeoff is that you don't have shit for P attacks and ammo is still horrible), and enemies don't deal nearly as much damage (but 7 upgrades is only 500 armor instead of 1000). You still need to buy DLC stages to have more than 1-2 copies of any item, and the acquisition rate is really slow (half the cast joins after stage 30).

BX's AI reached astounding levels of stupidity where they could be staring at a guaranteed kill in front of them and they will choose to suicide on King J-Der because he has more HP.

Also get rid of whoever came up with the Inspire system, it is a horribly broken mess of a gameplay mechanic. You know something is severely wrong when even S sized enemies have 0% hit rates on battleships. It especially hits you how messed up it is when you face the Sin Deus. It's skills, stats, attacks and abilities are actually pretty solid and it's fixed to always be like 5 levels higher than your strongest but it'll pretty much never be able to touch you because of the Inspire system gimping even him.

Most of the things taken from G are below that, as are Late UC things (15-18 usually), but after X it went back to the 18 average and I THINK it stuck around that point from then on. There's no reason not to keep it going. OG is cheap to make comparatively, and as long as the franchise keeps going they'll not have a shortage of plots to throw in.

If they were going to start using things out of order, we would have gotten NEO at some point before everything in La Gias was wrapped up.

General MS size (going by early UC) is 18m, or about 59'; an F18 is about 56' tip to tail, so the general rule of thumb I tend to use is most mobile suits are the size of a fighter jet if you stood it up

I assume you mean Jupiter sphere era stuff from the SNRI.

Since CCA era stuff is pretty well known for suddenly getting quite huge, Sazabi and Nu Gundam was like 23m slightly more with Fin Funnels equipped. Destroy mode Unicorn and Sinanju easily hits 23m as well.

SEED's stuff were on average around the 18m mark, AGE is actually on the larger end the Gundams were around 18m but the Vagan and MP Fed suits were a solid 20m.

I wonder how true that is sometimes actually, from what I gather due to the way licenses are handled. If they use a series twice in two separate games they don't pay anything extra since they effectively loan out a license for a certain time period. It may be sometimes the brand appeal more than makes up for the fee in sales.

I also recall on release 2ndOGs was expensive compared to other SRW's so if they did save anything from the licenses. They sure as hell wasted a lot of the money if they had to charge the same prices.

They're upgrading the gruntiest grunts (Gespensts), so the bigger things will get upgrades too eventually.

Kali Yuga would be kind of amusingly awkward far as a OG goes since she effectively is what both Supreme God Z and Keisar Ephes are deathly afraid of in their games and were trying to run from the entire game. Though in the case of Advent yeah he ended up becoming 'John'.

I wouldn't be surprised if later down the line we get some new form of Perfectio since he's still out there in the OG verse to serve as some end game threat in the final game. Dark Brain is also almost guaranteed to return with a new form of some kind.

...Just had a different thought about OG3. Since D characters will likely come back, it'd be nice if they start with Ganador and Strega and upgrade to Forte Gigas in the story, with the real-level upgrades being a secret to unlike, as a reverse situation to how OGs2 played out.

On the topic of BX/UX/etc "attack highest HP" AI, I don't think it's unintentional even with all the hilarious bugs that SRW used to have. It seems to be on purpose to make the game... well, even easier than it already is because this is SRW.

I mean, if you really wanted to, I don't think a "half-decent" AI would be hard to write if the AI doesn't care about any long-term goals or having to think about what its potential allies will do - just do a quick calculation based off armor/evasion of all targets in range and pile on one target until it dies, then move on to another.

Of course the issue is that even though that AI is close to the "optimal lazy" strategy that a player can use, as far as I can tell, people don't seem to like it when their units die even when all death penalties has been stripped out of SRW already.

Plus with the way enemy units are designed nowadays, it's really hard to ever "out-range" them unless the unit is like 10 squares away from the conflict. As much as people make fun of the Winkysoft era of range-crippled units with mostly pages of 1-range attacks and very rarely attacks that go past that, at least that kind of means you can sort of "control" the flow of enemy units like the way you do in Fire Emblem.

1) Move towards closest target and attack
2) Hang back and snipe, preferably target a unit that can't counter

I don't know if I would consider that competent, just not outright sabotaging yourself in the way the handheld AI does (I cannot think of a single situation where you would ever choose to target the highest HP character in range UNLESS you were intentionally holding back)

So I'm going to go with the fact that this is the game designers intentionally making the AI "hold back" (sort of like how they reverted the AI change in J where they were smart enough to know not to go for 0% hit rate units)

The first half of Kyosuke's route is canon. The stuff after routes split again is an alternate telling of Ryusei's route and, on top of not being canon, doesn't make much sense at parts.

The way OG1 works, both characters at the start are canon because they take place at different areas and don't contradict.

Then they join up together for the mid and split up again around 1/3 near the end. It's this last 1/3 of the game which goes with Ryusei's version of events rather than Kyosuke.
