Fafner got a new series. Eureka 7 got a new series. We're waiting on whatever they're announcing for FMP. Fukuda is working again, and the remasters weren't that long ago compared to the above mentioned. Is there still hope for the SEED movie?

I've done my share of research on the subject matter, and the answer is no. The movie is dead.
Morosawa had a deadline to deliver a script on March 2008 and that wasn't done, so Sunrise just moved on with other projects.
Ever since, we've seen 00, Unicorn, G-Reco, The Origin, Build Fighters, AGE and Tekketsu. It's pretty clear that there's no interest in doing any further anime projects with SEED beyond the Upscales.
Not until 2020. If it doesn't happen immediately you have to wait for the twenty year culture cycle to play through.
Despite people not wanting it I honestly do think the CE timeline will be revisited at some point

Problem is you'll never convince many to give it a chance, especially if Hiraiface is in effect.
There is also the issue of Fukuda. Someone else leading the project may not get the shit balance right to please the crowd. But at the same time not even the voice actors want to work with him again. This is also a fandom which has been festering for years so you can only imagine the warped militant groups of headcanons which if touched will go crazy. And if it all goes bad they can't fall back on the gunpla as SEED gunpla does shit

It's possible but unlikely.
Hell, getting the remasters was amazing in and of itself. The bits of new animation were really nice and if SEED hadn't been animated in early digipaint, then it might have actually had a good look to it.
Long story short, the 00 movie was supposed to be the SEED movie.
When the script wasn't turned in on time, Bandai just decided to delay the movie to the next Gundam franchise.

The remasters were purely so Bandai could resell the show in HD for Bluray/Broadcast.
SEED and Destiny got fucked by being extremely early digital shows. Even the remasters couldn't salvage everything. Multitudes of shots are soft and/or off model.
How well did the remasters do anyway? They came out the same time as AGE and that was a very poor year for Gundam as a whole.
