SRW is literally only possible in Japan not simply due to licensing fees and rights, but also simply to due to the fact that awareness for a majority of the series involved only exists in Japan, and that awareness and market essentially limits it to staying there in perpetuity.
What's supposed to run out in 3 years?
Off the top of my head their current macross license doesn't expire till 2021 and traditionally they renew it a year or two before it runs out.
