The Ideon blurays came out over two years ago and we still don't have a complete subbed rip of them yet so unless Clawshrimpy saves us you're gonna have to wait 5ever for someone to pick up GGG.

The issue with Ideon is that there are no good soft subs available for it. They have to be re-ripped from the old ass hardsubbed releases, often retranslated and retimed.
With GGG we have good softsubs readily available to be muxed in immediately. All we need is the encodes.
Haven't watched GGG since AiA days, hopefully someone will get these soon, long past due for a rewatching

G_P please. I personally planned to just extract the subs from their releases and watch the BR rips with those, but since it essentially means downloading 15 GB of video just for extracting sub files (I actually just started to watch GGG, but don't really want to watch the DVD rips now, since colours look off in those, and remaster seems to fix this at least partially), I'd be thankful to anyone who makes those subs more easily available.

If you read his previous posts about Dagwon, he implies he actually watched it before, so he knew darn well where he's going and that there are things in this show he doesn't like. IIRC he even mentioned somewhere on his Twitter that he has sort of love-hate relationship with this show, but it was around the time he was starting the project, so you'll have to dig really deep into his account to find this one. He also mentioned somewhere during these 2 months he's working on episode 5, and apologized for it taking this long, but it was like, in early November (or even earlier)? I suppose some things distracted him from continuing this one... It would be good if he finished Dagwon someday, but at least he's the one that finally did Grand Glorious Gathering which waited a decade to be fully subbed.
BTW. Shrimpy did subs before? Asking 'cause I'm a newbie in this area, and his blogs don't have traces of anything from before Grand Glorious Gathering.

Pretty much sums up how terrible the DVD version looked, and by extension, how terrible state the original masters were probably in. I just wonder, what in the Earth happened to those masters to lose contrast that much in no more than 9 years (that's the time gap between original airing and American release, right?) Good thing the remaster happened. I swear, when I was watching the DVD version of these few episodes I've seen, I could almost hear the video screaming REMASTER ME PLEASE as loud as Guy calling his attacks ;)

Somewhat related, but did anybody know where did GGG's helmet came from. From that scene before he don his helmet, that's something reddish going up and after the helmet is don, it's gone. How does that work? It actually kind of bothered me every Final Fusion.
