On a side note, if you factor in to the 18 minute episodes 3 minutes of the usual overall OP/ED time a single OVA will only be 15 minutes long, leaving the overall screentime at an hour. I guess this really will just be pretty toy commercial.

So since they're 4, 15 min OVAs, how do you think the story is going to be divided up?
>First episode introduces all the characters and setting, has the initial battle and ends with Io getting the Gundam.
>Second episode has Io wiping out the living Dead Snipers and the attack on their Living Dead fleet which leads to Daryl losing his arm and being prepped for the Psycho Zaku.
>Third episode is the arrival of the Feddie Child soldiers and the battle between the Mua Brotherhood and the Living Dead where both fleets are wiped out
>Forth episode is the battle between the Psycho Zaku and the Gundam, the battle on Dried Fish and finishes with the Seiren Fleet picking up the survivors. They might have it go to where they arrive at A Baoa Qu.

Yeah, it's not going to be a 1 for 1 of the manga, but people are overestimating the length of the battles or thinking Thunderbolt is going to have long winded expositional banality of Unicorn. Hell, the entire battle between the Mua child forces and the Living Dead is 3-4 minutes at most and they don't even need to include the guncannon girl if they want to save time.

It would be if it paced to be one 60 minute OVA. But it's four 15 - 18 minute OVAs, so individual episodes are going to feel rushed. It won't work either if you edit it all together because the pacing will be all over the place. Imagine removing the OP and ED and watching three IBO episodes as one.
That being said, going from what others have said in the thread, Thunderbolt doesn't seem like it's really content heavy or reliant on character driven drama. Four 15 minute OVAs might be enough to give an adequate overview of the manga.
Let's hope we'll get an extended movie edition with 30 minutes extra footage one day.
