Can we get a thread devoted to gritty, garage looking kits and props from /m/ shit? There's just something about the grungy mecha style that gets me going.

Dunno if it's weathered enough to fit into this thread, but I think Kazumi Fujita designs have a pretty grungy styling to them.

So what's the protocol on getting kits like this? Just make one? Scratch build? Or do people sell garage kits? I've always dug the look of these things.

Depends. Some of these are fully scratch built, some are resin parts to modify existing gunpla, some are just garage kits.

go to the gunpla general thread to get a normal kit nice looking, then...
coffee stains for "rust"
acetone for "melting"
paint-on wipe-off black and yellow oil based paints for "grease"
paint with CA glue and spray with baking-soda rich water mist for "blistering"
branding with match head or soldering iron for "bullet scars"
blood of your first born child in the panel lines for the deep set grime

It's a great movie, and I love that it's in the 2000 AD universe with Judge Dredd and the like. The robot design was really unique.
Sadly, the film doesn't hold up as well as I hoped upon a recent viewing, but it's still an okay suspense/slasher film.

As a game it's way too slow though. SRPGs (with PS2 scene loading times no less) are time consuming enough. Adding in controlled combat sequences made it a real slog.
