Sort of.
Yas, the character designer for 0079, made a manga that is his retelling of the original story. It starts a lot earlier than the first episode of MSG and changes a lot of things. Some are large changes (Guntanks in 0065, White Base's journey on earth is only the west coast of North, Central, and South America instead of circling the northern hemisphere, Odessa happens before Ireland, etc) some are small (Hayato ditches Guntank for a Guncannon, Amuro didn't invent Haro but instead built him from a popular kit, etc).
The Origin anime is adapting the new non-MSG material, mostly prequel stuff about kid-Char and kid-Sayla, with slight changes to put it more in line with the animated continuity (Origin Guntank is an earlier model and the RX-77 is still made as part of Project V).
While the Origin manga does retell all of MSG it seems unlikely they'll do all of that in the Origin ova's. It will probably end with Amuro getting into the Gundam.

Well EW Dragon Fangs looks heavy and can crush something for real. TV version looks thin and prone to break easily. Bigger EW Dragon Fangs also can work as shields so that round shield in TV version no longer necessary.
