The Guardian has that kind of generic uniform sound to it JAM Project has had with a lot of their songs of the last ten years or so. It's solid but nothing special, lacks the power and raw energy of their more famous work. Fire Wars is more of a Kageyama song that it is a JAM Project song, and more a Jon Bon Jovi song than either, so I can see why people wouldn't like it, just not why they would think it's worse than The Guardian.

There are aspects of Fire Wars that I like, but some days I just kind "ugh" at it. I think it's mainly the incomprehensible lyrics that come from having Kageyama sing.
I forgot that Gate of Hell was JAM Project, the best part of the otherwise mediocre Mazinkaiser movie.
