The ads are shitty but I'll deal with them since it's convenient to have all of this here. Not even Crunchyroll has all this /m/ shit and I dont feel like downloading it.

For the love of god don't be stubborn like I am when it comes to dropping shows in Gundam. If not you'll eventually reach a point where you're so far into the franchise that even when you get to something you absolutely hate you'll think to yourself "WELL I MADE IT THIS FAR IT'D BE AN EVEN BIGGER WASTE TO START DROPPING THINGS NOW!". This is an awful mentality that will result in you being a grumpy piece of shit.

I just got more into anime as a medium and less as something I occasionally watched. I started to enjoy shows that presented themselves as what they were and not for what I wanted them to be. TTGL is very stylish and over the top, and the animation, music, and characters support that theme. While I do still think it starts off a little slow, it's a show that knows what it is, owns it, and presents itself as such, and that's all it needs to be.

And following it started The Big O.
Also I've been meaning to start watching the new Gundam show, but every week picking it up becomes harder, as I have more catching up to do.
I'm not even a big mecha fan generally, but this is clearly a time of big robots for me.

>Also I've been meaning to start watching the new Gundam show, but every week picking it up becomes harder, as I have more catching up to do.

>>13524897
>Finished True Mazinger Impact today
What is your opinion of it, if I may ask?
>>13524937
I liked it a lot.
It's not high brow art of highest caliber, but a simple robot action show, where good guys fight villainous villains.
But it's executed well. I liked it style, it had plenty of fun characters and it was generally pleasing to watch.
Also, now that I think about it and it's general structure it did an exact opposite of a thing I hate.
Many times, series try to build tension or interest by raising new questions and presenting new mysteries.
Mazinger on the other hand felt like it constantly gave answers and revealed new things.
Surely those sometimes lead to new questions, but still there was constantly something new being revealed about the characters, or what had happened before or there was some other reveal.
So, I liked it.
IBO and One Punch Man.

IBO, Heavy Object, GARO, and Comet Lucifer are the series I've been following as seasonals (though have fallen behind on all of them). I've got the raws for Cyborg 009 vs Devilman ready to go, too.
Rewatching Gaiking as I sub it, so I'll probably be getting back to it in a few days.
Been watching the Devilman OVAs, also. Good shit- I'd say the first episode is arguably better than the first volume of the manga, tonally speaking.
Is the Sidonia anime any good? I've been reading the manga lately, and I'm digging it so far.

On hiatus right now, though. Might just do a batch for the remaining episodes I've got scripts retimed for, dunno. Cleaning up the garbage text from Google translate is a bit of a bitch for subs that I have /no/ clue are accurate or not.

Thanks anon, looks cool.
Also, to anyone in this thread, should I watch Gaim or try to catch up with Ghost?
>>13531585
this anon. I've been watching all day and I'm now passed episode 19 cuz I'm crazy. This show is pretty entertaining. Lots of feels.
About halfway through Tetsujin 28-gou (2004). This show is so fucking good, but also pretty sad. I'm absolutely loving it so far, will probably end up being one of my favourites. Was sort of disappointed with Shin Mazinger Z recently enough (it was still pretty good though) but Tetsujin is exceeding all my expectations.
Anyone got any download links to the soundtrack? Haven't looked to hard but I can't find it anywhere. The music is so damn good.
>>13533131
No kidding. Just finished 'Heaven and Earth' and its been quite a ride, thought I will let some days before starting Exodus.
Maybe will give a replay to UX too, the fafner crew grew a lot on me.
>>13531666
How's Gravion, by the way (the first series)? I'm thinking of getting into it but it seems people vasty prefer Zwei.
I guess what I'm asking is are the both shows worth my time?
>>13536417
I prefer Shin to Tetsujin.
Tetsujin has some good episodes, but it's nowhere as ambitious as Shin with its story.
Shin's plot was absolute bonkers, even more than G Gundam and Giant Robo, and somehow it worked.
>>13536574
I can see what you mean. Shin Mazinger was definitely crazy, when I say I was disappointed with it, I'm underselling it. It's just that people were praising it as a 10/10, but for me it just dragged at times. Giant Robo is one of my favourite /m/ anime behind Gunbuster so I was looking forward to seeing another Imagawa adaption/reimagining. I'd give it an 8/10 easily, it was really fun at times. That ending was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The soundtrack was cool, Kouji is a badass, and the stuff to do with Zeus and Mycenae was just awesome.
But as I said, it just dragged for me at times. It felt like they repeated stuff do with Baron Ahsura at least 5 times every time something new was revealed. Just a lot of repeating overall, actually. It just slowed it down for me and I got bored at times.
I think my biggest and most retarded mistake was watching it before reading the Mazinger manga. I think I'd appreciate what Imagawa was going for if I did. I'll have to read that (can't believe I haven't yet) and then rewatch Shin.
>>13536574
>I prefer Shin to Tetsujin.
>Tetsujin has some good episodes, but it's nowhere as ambitious as Shin with its story.
I have to say I think the total opposite as you, though I enjoyed both in different ways.
>>13520631
Depends. Do you NEED to see christmas cake win on camera?
If so, watch it. Best theory is that it's the previous failed attempt at retuning the world since it's supposed to be sad as fuck.
>>13521227
>Finished watching Heroman
>So many plot threads left
>No S2
Fucking kill me.
>>13536731
Giant Robo repeats just as much.
Giant Robo is good, but in my opinion, the episodes should have been shorter.
Shin has something interesting happen at the end of every episode. It works because an episode is 23 minutes. There's way too much build up in Giant Robo in my opinion. It's only when episode 5 hits that you start seeing how Imagawa is turning the plot on its head.
>>13536548
Gravion Zwei is good, and you should watch the first series to lead into it while skipping episodes that seem like filler (because they are).
I'm currently waiting for my friend to give me back my BDs of MJP so my roommate and I can finish watching it.
Managed to get to episode twenty-something of Wing, we stopped watching it for whatever reason.
I got to episode 4 of captain earth and then just stopped. I haven't been watching it because the big info dumps it likes to vomit up are confusing as shit.
I'm also on episode 20 ofdragon ball Zits painful to watch at times, but still pretty cool.
And of course I'm watching IBO like everyon else.
>>13539086
>watching IBO like everyon else

Watching XABUNGURU for the first time. I really like it, Timp is a god tier character.

>>13536548
Gravion is kind of amusing in that the first series tries to do some different stuff and present new ideas while the second is more "standard" super robot fare... but Zwei is also much better at what it does. Write what you know, I guess.
