If you've been listening to /m/ tell you how horrible Destiny and Age are then they're guaranteed to exceed your expectations. G-Saviour isn't all that bad either. It was actually more Gundam than I expected it to be. It's a made-for-tv-movie so don't get your hopes up too high, but they actually do have ms combat with beam sabers. Also the design of the G-Saviour is pretty cool even if the cgi is a bit dated, it even looks like it could be descended from the mass-produced Gundams from Victory.

I'm also interested in Gundam. I started watching 0079 a while back, and was too busy to finish. I'm about to start watching it again, but is there any good Gundam series you can recommend that's more modern I so I can switch back and forth between them, that doesn't depend on knowledge of earlier series to understand or enjoy?

I liked it. It wasn't nearly as good, but animated ZZ Tryon and all the G Gundam stylings pleased me a lot. I'd say I liked the the first for the entirety of it, and Try for its stand out moments.
