Getting Lamia back in OGG:
Did we really need to lose a good pilot for the majority of the game just so a writer could indulge the brainwashing fetish he's been fapping to since OG1? Seriously. I hope he finally manages to keep it in his pants for OG3.
Also she tries to take out Kyosuke and Excellen to damage the heroes battle potential? Not Compatible Kaiser? Ialdabaoth? The DGGs? The Wilds? The frigging SRX? It's a character thing, but it's still really noticeable when the Alt and Weiss are falling behind.
And now I have Lamia back but she's so behind I'm not sure it's worth taking her off the bench.

We didn't, but it happened anyway because OGG has...issues. It's still a really good game, but between the Lamia brainwashing plot and hard-capping the enemy density at 32-36 for all but like 4 stages, I wish they'd spent a couple more months on it. But I guess they had to have it out by the end of 2007.

The only time Kyosuke steals the spotlight in the first place is if you take his route in OG1. OG2 was focused around Impact's plot so of course he was important, and they pretty much tied Impact and A together so having him be central to the Lamia stuff in OGG isn't that unexpected either since Axel takes his sweet time to join the rest of the team.

My personal Super MC doesn't have an upgrade. It's sort of... well, actually, Falsaber's a decent point of comparison - it's magic based, its attacks are all based on the pilot's imagination, and it has a mind of its own. Except unlike Falsaber, it has water based powers.
So it starts with an attack that works sort of like Melt Shower, an Ice Fist, the Frozen Beam, and Steam Vent Blaster (a bunch of steam vents on the body fire steam at the enemy while the mech hugs the enemy). Then midway through the first Super route, when you first encounter an OG enemy, it unlocks the Great Whirlpool Kick, and eventually it unlocks the Grand Tsunamiand then really late in the game it unlocks the Fury Of The First combo with the Real OGs, and the secret Plasma Ignition Destroyer combo with an unlockable enemy mech.
Haven't quite nailed down the exact designs though, the Real OGs were much easier to work out (start in a few Zeon and Giganos mechs, then they upgrade to other series MP mechs - one gets a MP Getter 3, one gets a Mazinger Army unit, one gets a Dragoon 3, and one gets a special custom unit - an attempt by the Earth Federation to create a commander style unit in the style of the Gundam. They call it theHB-1 Custom "Huckebein"

The only secret characters in Advance worth getting in a first run are Four, Maillot, Allenby, and Lalah+Gai (or Master Asia). Maybe the Purus, too, but I don't recall what their upgrade number is. Gouf Custom might be good, I dunno. On NG+ when you have 15 upgrades on everything you can stand to sacrifice a V-Up for a character since at 15 upgrades your units who got fucked from having 7-10 upgrades are going to be a hell of a lot better than your units who have 13-15 but lower bases.
But I don't think anyone here would play Advance more than once.

Coordinator fucking sucks in J, W, and K. The only noticeable performance increase is critical rate, but then in K SEED became +25% damage that stacks with damage spirits. You get less total Hit and Evade from SEED+Coordinator in J and W than you do in any later games (10-12; I forgot if WLB pushes Coordinator from 8 to 10 or 8 to 12).

It's a fun little game.
If you're looking for something more board relevant, however, I'd recommend Takegami War God (short OVA) or MS Saga (Gundam RPG for the PS2).

Have you played Shadow Hearts: Covenant for PS2? It's dark kinda Lovecraftian historical fiction but also has moments of comedy, like a gay wrestling vampire, and a wolf who fights other wolves in a world tournament and one of the battles is against the wolf version of the Black Tri-Stars.

I have the general thrust of the plot done, am working on individual stage plots (Mostly, my problem is the Super route, and the fact that I have no idea how long I should keep it to purely Gundam and Dragonar plot before they reach California and sidetrack to stop the Skrugg - also I'm not sure whether I should debut Dangaioh before the opening route split ends or afterwards.)
