hey /m/ i haven't touched any mecha related things for the past 3 years and suddenly my cousin bought me Z3 jigoku and tengoku hen and i want to get into mecha animes again.
but i don't know which mecha animes got released these past 3 years, can someone fill me up? google didn't help that much
and while we're at it, which ones of those animes are worth watching? at least i want to know which ones to watch first, don't worry i plan to watch every single one of them

Fafner Exodus is GOAT, but requires some investment in the previous series. While you could watch it cold, you'll be incredibly confused, and it'd be a terrible idea.

No problem. Just as a word of warning, M3 is mostly solid, but has one serious flaw that divides people: Constant fucking flashbacks until the last four episodes. And I do mean constant as in 1.4 the run time, the anime would be a classic without that.

You do know they ultimately just do what the show directors ask them to?
It's why the "flavor" (I'm sure there's a better word) of their work differs so much from studio to studio.
For example, I rarely ever mention Akito or Infinite Stratos when I talk about how good Orange is.
I also mention how MJP's fights can use some improvement.
The work they did in Arise is fantastic, outside of that one snow fight.
