Well, he's not wrong. Love is strange and shit. A parent/child relationship can get weirdly (non-physically) intimate without it necessarily being unhealthy. Sex, on the other hand, is pretty straightforward: if they can't consent, it's wrong. And children can't consent.
I feel weird defending this, not only because of the obvious but also because we have so many stories with father figures who'd die for their daughters over their lovers, so you think this concept would itself be pretty obvious.
