Whose your favorite cancelled robot?
Tetsujin
>>13504878
The obvious answer.
>>13504815
>>13504815
Gundam X.
>>13504815
Zegapain The Movie
0079 without a doubt
I like the mecha for Rayblade, even if the whole thing is just Not-Masoukishin.
Shame the sequel and movie never happened.
;_;
And of course CGI-King.
Himitsu Gattai Dailaon
>>13505094
Ouch.
>>13505089
I'm never going to get over this
>>13505024
Glorious 720p HD. Gundam was actually drawn pretty well for some good scenes.
>>13505255
What's even worse is that it was already cancelled once years before that version even existed.
The trailer was from 2012, this image here from early 2006.
>>13505171
Never heard of this one!
>>13505037
Speaking of Rayblade, I wish we'd gotten Rayforce.
>>13504815
When the moon hits your eye
like a big blast of "DIE!"
that's...amore!
Is this actually still a thing?
I remember seeing a new trailer some time ago.

>Never heard of this one!
And you're better off with that unless you are into gay shota.
>>13505330
Oh, I think I've seen that one then. Lots of asteroids?
I didn't realize there was going to be more. What, a whole episode or a short OVA or something? Can't say we're missing out.
The sequel to Pizza Cats that never made it past the drawing board.
>>13505311

Dancouga
Luckily it got a few OVAs later
>>13505442
>>13505445
I'm just glad someone finally ripped the OVA and released it, I literally searched for days for vids when I first found out about Justeen.

Not him, but some Korean or Chinese Sentai lookalike that might have been an anime.
Did this ever get a release?
Ignore the girl in the foreground.
BRING THEM BACK SUNRISE!!!!
>>13505715
No way. Do you really want the Shrimp to have his waifu have his own show?
>>13504878
Why don't they try remaking it?
I mean, actually remaking it...not that 'other' thing.
>>13505024
I think the fact that 0079 came out in the 70s really shaped out a bunch of the combat scenes worked.
>>13505479
Was it subbed? I could only find the raw.
>>13506733
>Was it subbed?
Most people don't even know that it was released at all.
>>13505818
As if Gai and the rest of GGG busting out of Jupiter wouldn't be the big episode 3 or 4 twist.

"SF-X Fantasy Rayforce," a Korean Tokusatsu production that never got off the ground.

>>13507098
I'm still disappointed.
>>13505094
Over this one too.
>>13505094
Piloted by not-Proist, as well.
No idea what they were going for, but I bet it would have been interesting.

For real! I didn't know, and just now activated the torrent I found on Nyaa. But it's as seedless as a designer grape. Anyone able to help a co/m/rade out?
>>13507104
what went down was more or less the following:
>AIC wants to use an anime to promote their new animation software
>decides to use a show that has the absolutely brilliant premise of unused concept art from Gigantic Formula vs. old plastic model knockoffs from Aoshima, Imai, Arii, etc. to do this
>promotes it in the background of "My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute"
>holds contests to get some young blood as voice actors
>AIC goes "ppffftttpfpfpfpffpftfdpfdspfffttt" afterwards
>first episode of Justeen only gets sold as OVA at cons and gets streamed on video-on-demand platforms while the Atlanger OVA gets packed together with a stupidly expensive action figure
>most people actually considered Justeen vaporware for years
>was uploaded a few months ago
>FUCK AIC

This is a crime.
Also reminds me of that Vendetta anime that got one ep, but never took off.
Granted that was a doujin anime. AIC really screwed a great idea.
>>13505293
>>13505089
Holy shit I didn't even realize these were supposed to be the same project
>>13507238
Neither did I and it was pure luck that I still had that image from an old thread where someone wanted to know what show it was from.
When the trailer aired I KNEW that I've seen that title logo somewhere before.
>>13507163
Blee! It's needing now! Thank you, /m/!!!
>>13507196
Oh wow, sweet, even better. Thanks!!!

goddamnit
>>13505709
That's Atlanger from Geppy X.
>>13507649
Technically, Atlanger was made back in the 70s. For some reason or another, despite never having a show, it has some sort of cult following.
I recall reading here that there was at one point a plan for a Mazinger show where there'd be a fleet heading out in to deep space that used Mazinger based grunt suits and even had a spaceship that transformed in to a Mazinger. I believe there might even have been some scans posted with initial designs from one of the Mazinger bibles. It's basically SDF Mazinger and I would kill to see such a show.
>>13507676
>>13508054
There was a crossover manga where Atlanger saves Mazinger Z from Yami no Teio and Mazinger's damaged parts get upgraded with orichalcum to become Mazinger AZ.
>>13508054
Speaking of, does anybody have a good DL for the Mazinger Bible?
>>13507174
There's an Atlanger OVA separate from Justeen? Has it been uploaded anywhere?
>>13505094
CGI CGI CGI MARYU GAI KING!

FUCK THIS SHIT! It looked awesome.
>>13507676
I'll try to explain this, but my memory is really shoddy and it's been a while since Justeen's original announcement when I did all my research on it.
To this day, there exists a company called Aoshima.
At one point, Aoshima wants to get in on the toy craze of scifi and robots. However, they face some issues. Copyright and legal issues.
This lead to things like Red Hawk Yamato. A giant knock off of the Space Battleship Yamato with a robot as its bridge, along with a gaudy color scheme and a combination mechanism (so they could split it up and sell the pieces individually.)
I don't recall why they did it in the first place, someone did a write up about it, but I don't really have access to the archive to remember what it was or who even posted it.
My own personal theory, however, has been that Aoshima was just a company that re-processed the "unsold" toys and remodelled them into the stuff we got, like Redhawk and Atlanger, but some of them were simply too "bizarre" to be just that.
They produced quite a few. This includes a Gundam knockoff, a Dougram/VOTOMS knock off, and even a few fantasy-styled robots. There was even one that was like a bizarre mix of Trider G7 and Ideon.
Over the years, they gain a cult following. Aoshima cooperates with companies to produce new toys, new product placement, and a variety of other things. This includes Atlanger's appearance in Geppy-X and along with a few other robots in Justeen.
They put out new versions of some of the toys under specific banners, but nothing big and special. There's no Soul of Chogokin Atlanger, for example, but a part of me was hoping for it when Justeen was first announced.

I have a book on those.

Really should finish scanning it.

No. I can't be reading that right.
I think I have to lie down.
>>13505089
I'M STILL MAD
I'm bummed that Le Deus, Legaciam, Dragon's Heaven, and Good Morning Althea all only got one OVA each.
>>13504815

>>13509178
Yeah, same here. Legaciam was pretty fun.
>>13504815
The one that never got made.
>>13504878
Muh nigga.
On the subject of mecha series that either were cancelled or in development hell, anyone recall that one recent Braves-like mech that turns out to have been tied to some other project?
I distinctly recall it featured 2 leads; a male with red spiky hair and a blonde female. Both look to be older teens rather than the usual child-like human cast. The mech looked rather like a typical Braves mech (but colored like Erde Kaiser from Xenosaga).
Unrelated to the project name I'm looking for, here's an image from a Leijiverse project.
>>13505024
Kek thanks for reminding me that some of the battle scenes from 0079 were kekworthy (not that it's a bad thing, it adds to the appeal)
>>13509762
Read the fucking thread.
So many canceled western mecha.
