Anyone have any luck watching or finding this? I've tried everything and now luck except one video that's the trailer for it.
>>
Like if anyone can actually find this i would love you more then anything. Trying to not watch zeta gundam before this.
>>
Good fucking luck, douchebag.
>>
>>13501050
>douchebag
Why is this piece of film so damn hard to find?
>>
>>13501051
Because it was extremely obscure and shitty in the first place, I guess.

Not sure why you wouldn't watch Zeta first, considering this takes place at the tail end of Zeta's conflict, but whatever.
>>
>>13501053
My bad i meant ZZ not Zeta. I watched the trailer and it seemed alright. but there's gotta be something online for this. This can't just not exist if it was released in 2001.
>>
>>13501051
It was only showed in a cinema at some gundam related location. No BDs or DVDs.
>>
>>13501075
Damn what a shame. So how come sunrise just doesn't re release it?
>>
>>13501088
It was made to be screened in a planetarium or something. I'm not sure if it's IMAX, but it's sort of like that. So I don't know if it would translate well to a DVD/BD aspect ratio you can get at home.

That being said, I do remember coming across a full IMAX-only movie uploaded to YouTube. The edges of the picture looked distorted, but most of the center was just fine. So if someone acquired the film itself, it should be possible for anyone to watch it.

We just need to assemble a team.
>>
>>13501167
It's sad because this literally bridges the gap for z and zz for amuro right before chars counter attack.
We really should assemble a team and find some people who can get this to go.
>>
>>13501167
That's news to me. I had always heard it was part of a star tours style ride put on for an event years ago.
>>
>>13501181
Star tours? What's that? Care to give a brief explanation?
>>
>>13501183
Wikipedia can explain better than I can at 4 am after a night out, so here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Tours
Sorry if I sound rude.
>>
>>13501191
I read it. Why would star tour involve anything gundam related? That was always star wars exclusive.
>>
>>13501197
I said STYLE after star tours in the first post for a reason. From what I had heard in the past, it was a ride in Japan in the same vein as star tours. I also heard that it had three screens showing video making it impossible for anyone to get a proper release of it. However, all of this was just what I had heard regurgitated on /m/ over years so it can't really be trusted.
>>
>>13501181
You could be right, I could be wrong. I'm going off memory, mostly.

>>13501172
>this literally bridges the gap for z and zz for amuro right before chars counter attack.

I wouldn't hype it that much. It happens years before Char's Counterattack, it's only right after Zeta. Amuro probably doesn't say much, he probably just comes in at the end and waves at the two kids from his cockpit. And if you feel like it shows character development because he's kinda sorta in space even though he was afraid of leaving Earth's surface in Zeta, there's Gundam Evolve Episode Nine. And apparently both Evolve's and Green Divers's sorties don't count as "returning to space," rather Amuro's still in the atmosphere, just in the topmost layer.
>>
>>13501181
>That's news to me. I had always heard it was part of a star tours style ride put on for an event years ago.
I'm pretty sure that's Gundam The Ride you're thinking of
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXpkAPdlTkc
iirc that simulator ride was at a theme park for a while
>>
>>13501395
Yeah that's gundam the ride. It was covered in the third gundam movie.

>>
>>13501751
Victory and Turn A I'd think. G-Reco?
>>
>>13501766
Is turn a canon? I thought it was apart of another universe like g fighter, and seed?
>>
>>13501751
the original and Zeta compilation movies?
>>
>>13501790
It's Tomino so it is more important than the one year war sidestories
>>
>>13501799
I was told to skip them since they only covered a little bit. And there was no point if i watched the original shows.
>>
http://www.e-field.gr.jp/ okay so i found this, and this is the only site ever to do anything with neo exp.
>>
>>13501044
I actually was able to see some clips of this like 5-6 years ago while digging through YouTube and some other sites but it's apparently extremely difficult to find.
Your best bet is going over to Japan and searching for the physical copy
>>
>>13501823
Sorta. CCA and Zeta reference the MSG movie trilogy of events (Hayato has a Guncannon in his MS museum in Zeta, CCA flashes back to Sayla in the Core booster instead of the G-Fighter), but the Zeta trilogy isn't really worth seeing other than for newly animated scenes that sorta don't fit well with the old 80s animated footage.
>>
>>13502872
There is no physical copy.
>>
>>13502924
wait how does Imax work then?
>>
>>13502941
Green Divers isn't imax. Sorry for the long-ass links, but it's kinda surprising that no one bothered to do any research (especially OP who was looking for it)

https://translate.google.ca/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%25E3%2582%25AC%25E3%2583%25B3%25E3%2583%2580%25E3%2583%25A0%25E6%2596%25B0%25E4%25BD%2593%25E9%25A8%2593_%25E3%2582%25B0%25E3%2583%25AA%25E3%2583%25BC%25E3%2583%25B3%25E3%2583%2580%25E3%2582%25A4%25E3%2583%2590%25E3%2583%25BC%25E3%2582%25BA&prev=search

>2001 in Shibuya Tokyu Bunka Kaikan multi-screen theater E-Field was about four months public from August 10 at. Then at the venue is equipped with a whole top surface screen, such as a planetarium, also in 70mm 15P film telecine now is to be time-limited screenings in various locations.

It was screened at a planetarium that was specially equipped to do it. Said planetarium was shut down 12 years ago.

The only other alternate format it was shown in (70mm 15P, apparently meaning 15perf) is something usually associated with imax.

Post too long, continuing in second post.

A brain-machine interface generates an image directly from the animator's neural activity. It stands for Imagination Manifestation Array X.

But really, if a physical copy doesn't exist, that means it was either lost or destroyed. I suppose that's a possibility. The first question is, how many copies were made in the first place? Was the film ever shown at more than one location within the same timeframe? Would one location have had backup copies? (I've yet to look through the links >>13502995 provided.)

I like to imagine there's one in a cardboard box in some Sunrise exec's storage room right now. Kind of like the story of that Nintendo Playstation.

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2i77ir/interstellar_will_be_shown_in_three_largescreen/
>IMAX Digital Projection is currently 2K Resolution (not 4K), which is a far cry from the 8K (8,000 pixels wide) plus of resolution that a 15-perf 70mm film print can show
>If a location says it's playing in "70mm IMAX", it has, or has reinstalled, a 15-perf 70mm IMAX Projector. These locations almost all have very large, tall screens with a 1.43:1 aspect ratio, and are the only theatres where the film's IMAX sequences will be presented in that full ratio.

The 70mm 15perf film media they're talking about was something that IMAX used to use, but is discontinued. Even more complex is that that version of Green Divers isn't advertised as being IMAX, though. So even if Green Divers existing on a roll of 70mm 15perf reel somewhere, it'd be expensive as fuck to work with because it's in some weird format no one works with anymore, the projection systems for that kind of film are dismantled and no longer used in theatres, and no one's made a "normal" version of it. Now, back to the translated wikipedia link for Green Divers:

>This work is, planetarium and digital theater using the facilities all Tenshu movie is actually mobile suit is mounted on the cockpit of (MS) whole sky around monitor video that powerful, such as to reproduce the entire top surface and projected on the screen, you can enjoy a sense of realism, such as if they are flying around the universe aboard the MS.

In other words, it's a setup where they play three videos at the same time and it's simulated to look and work like a mobile suit cockpit during parts of the video.

TL;DR
They never intended to sell it as physical or digital media (no such record exists, nor do scans of a DVD/BD case)
At first it only existed as a planetarium show for a special triple video stream thing
It was adapted to a now-uncommon film format but still not called IMAX and no projectors exist

It was apparently last screened only five-and-a-half years ago. That's more promising than I had thought.

It was destiny anon, you were meant to find gundam
>>
So anything more on this movie yet?
>>
>>13503396
what else do you want?
>>
>>13503396
Short of an effort from sunrise to find it (good luck organizing a japanese letter/email campaign) there is effectively no hope for any of us to see it in any form other than a trailer.

Even the people who do have copies likely don't have any of the equipment necessary to watch it. Unless of course they built a multimillion dollar custom home planetarium/movie theater to watch ONE specific movie.

Right, that's not going to work. We need a team.

So, here's footage from the film in a teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8RBXqrXL4c. How do they get that into a format you can upload to YouTube? Did they "capture" it from the film itself, or did they use the original... cels, or whatever, I don't know anything about animation processes, digital or otherwise.
