Great animation and fights, OK characters, love the ADVENTURE! vibe it has, it's one of the best things about the show.

It's the best "adventure" show I've seen. You can't really compare it to something like VOTOMs or Layzner, which I'd say are better 80s mecha shows, but skewed towards a more adult audience. Giant Gorg isn't a children's show by a long shot(a particular near-rape scene comes immediately to mind)but it's definitely a fun-for-the-whole-family type of deal.
On a scale between Katz Kobayashi and Sei Iori, how's the shota?

Why the fuck is Sei your high point? Why the hell is Katz even in there at the bottom, in Zeta he's as much of a shota as Kamille is. I give Yuu a Shotaro Kaneda/10, guns down motherfuckers and doesn't afraid of anything.

I think that one of the things about the show I enjoyed the most; the whole western adventure angle which for the most part it managed to nail down. I honestly think it might've fared a bit better had Sunrise aired it at the west first in the height of the mecha boom fueled by TF there (with a few changes of course).
