I think given it's time. 79' is a excellent little show. It has a very straight forward story and I think there is enough that happens within each episode to kind of keep you invested. I could have finished a easy 20 today if I didn't have to work or do other things.

Yzak made it look good and move good. The Dearka/Athrun/Yzak teamup against the Extended trio was easily one of the best parts of the series.

It isn't even necessary to explain the existence of the Titans, since the Titans arise as a reaction to the horrific shit that happened during the One Year War, including extra brutality that almost always occurs when one nations beats and occupies another. In a way, 0083 dilutes that and makes the transition worse, since it implies that that reaction couldn't have happened and needed an excuse like another colony drop when the One Year War already presented plenty of reason.

However, 0083 is based around the in-between of 0079 and Zeta. Honestly not a big fan of the ZAFT suits from Destiny, the ones in SEED are nice but the Zeon homage suits, the heavy homage ones, just don't do it for me as a whole, minus maybe one or two of the ZAKU packs.
Except the Gouf Crusher from one of the side Mangas. That thing was neat.
The CE Gouf's are actually really powerful. On part with the Second Stage Gundams minus the Phase Shift, stronger than everything but the nuclear powered suits.
So what was the deal with Zeon's mobile suit industrial complex? Wasn't the Gouf made by a different company than the Zaku II? Was there some nepotistic patent infringing bullshit going on there?

Packard vs Shiro was one of the few fights actually that feels real (Or as real as it is possible to get in a show about giant fighting robots.)
This is EXACTLY how mobile suit combat would go in real life, every action makes it feel as though these are 200 ton robots that could actually exist in the real world.
Every other Gundam series makes it feel as though they are Giant, robot Super-Saiyans, 00 especially. This makes them feel like actual machines that take every whit in your head to move without getting killed by the other guys out there.
