I am asking cause I actually dropped this and Concrete Revolution that is airing at the same time. I picked up Concrete Revolution and damn it is pretty good and I hope I not missing out on the fun on Comet Lucifer

Eh, not really. I wanted to drop Concrete too because the 5th episode is just plain bad, but the 6th may change my opinion.
Comet Lucifer is Aldnoah Zero for hipster. It used many popular anime tropes from the 90s but didn't know how to use it.

This is the correct answer.
This is actually the first show in a while I've even considered dropping, and that's just weird. I don't drop shows as a general rule, but this show is just vacuous.
I barely finished episode 3, I actually had to force myself.
Is it a coincidence the show became shitty with the reveal the gorillabot has a normal looking form?

S1 or S2? If it's S1, then it would be fine even did some favors for Charlotte. S2 is just the lowest when it comes to adaptation: not only did it skip around stuff, it even introduced its own set of fillers.

Episode 3 and 4 were an ungodly mess.
I actually thought this episode was okay. A lighthearted "crash the wedding" story with some decent mech action.
This show has consistently struggled with balancing the lighthearted adventure with the mecha stuff. And while I feel this episode did have a good balance of that, the major underlying problem appears in that it feels very generic.
This show just need SOMETHING to make it more engaging. However, I don't know exactly what that something is. It's frustrating because there is a lot of fun & potential in this show, but it just doesn't quite reach that "Oh man, this show is great!" level.
I didn't find ep 3 as offensive as everyone else did.
Ep 4 was primarily just a set up for ep 5. Even the much maligned dancing vegetable scene was just a set up for the mystic loli abusing her powers.
And I liked Ep 5. Some solid fights, I love the fact that if the mascot is missing pieces, when it transforms into the guardian it's missing it's arm. It was funny seeing Sojo get beaten into a pulp.
Haven't watched ep 6 yet. Seems to me most of you guys are complaining about the show being an incoherent mess, but as far as I can tell it's biggest crime is pacing, and being boring.

Nah, you're both wrong. It's using 90s anime tropes in the same way a 90s anime might have done it; that is to say, it's acting like its got 50 episodes to cover its story and is focusing on random adventure hijinks. It's pretty much using what it's got correctly on an episode by episode basis, but for a show like this, its got a serious case of not getting down to business. Like the last episode reveals that they are on their way to a shrine which is going to progress the plot. In the 90s, cue 3 episode of dicking around with random people on the way there. Here is the same thing, time to go to a wedding to fulfill the quota of worldbuilding, helping people out, and love triangle. Problem is most of us recognize that this is ultimately pointless to the plot which actually stays true to the type of a longform anime with filler episodes. The problem is they don't have that kind of time.
Also, this is nowhere near what made aldnoah bad. Half of what made that show garbage was its heavy pretense and nonsense background and plot. This show has a talking rock thing mascot that eats too much with saturday morning cartoon villain guy with glasses and murderer kid.

I have a pretty apathetic opinion of it, but the sound design is perfect.
I can't think of any reasons to really praise it other than that & Orange, but even decent fights aren't really entirely enough for me.
On the same token, I really can't think of anything egregiously bad about it either.
I think it needs a better editor and/or producer to reign its staff in.

I stopped giving a fuck about gorilla bot the moment it was revealed that it was an annoying chibi loli voiced rock snake mascot and not just the final form of the humans who end up having to protect her.
And I still don't know or really care about what's going on. I think they should take a page from the first half of zoids(skip the second season, holy shit did that shit the bed) and have it be a travel from place to place in a giant ship kind of show with them stopping by different quasi modern villages here and there all while looking for the truth behind the EBUL EMPIRES/MISUNDERTOOD ANTAGONISTS intentions.

This show is 4/10 garbage, but I started having fun this episode and last. I mean I still paused the episode a bunch of times and got bored but I enjoyed the fights.
