To bump this thread, does anyone have that map of Deloyer, with certain locations marked by the number of the episode where said location was used?

Great series, but the question is whether you want to get the Revoltech figures or the Max Faxtory kits.

New 'Gunner family models never.

How'd you enjoy it?

I loved votoms but I can't find a torrent for this. Any ideas?

Also, can't find a torrent for LOGH that has full subs. The one I got was missing lines of dialogue much to my displeasure.

You can find it easily on Bakabt. If that doesn't work you could stream it like a pleb on YT or one of the dedicated anime streaming sites.

It's really too bad a lot of the art for Dougram isn't really available in high-res.

I started this (5 eps in), when does it get good
>>
>>13470181
It's a seventy five episode series. If you're not enjoying it now either you can ride it out or give up. I was enjoying myself by episode four.
>>
>>13470663
This. Episode 1 is meant to hook viewers in.
>>
>>13470663
>>13470680
That said, it does get more interesting somewhat when Lecoque finally starts acting up.
>>
>>13470181
Same as the other anons said. Maybe stick around to episode 10 or something but otherwise the series just might not be for you.

I'm tempted to buy the Max Factory kits but the reviews aren't giving me favorable impressions of the articulation, especially for this fellow. I dunno. A bit pricey, too.
>>
>>13470663
>>13472698
Back when I watched it, for a while it seemed kind of dull, but halfway through the series, things just started clicking with me, and the last 30 or 40 episodes I really enjoyed.
>>
>>13470181
I found a very large jump in enjoyment after about ~15-20 episodes. The start was interesting but a bit slow and off-putting at times but I stuck with it and ended up really enjoying it. It takes time to build up steam but once it really hits its stride Dougram is great. Also I watched it before VOTOMS and while I like both I definitely noticed that VOTOMS had much sharper pacing and at many points felt like a refined Dougram.

I just started watching it today, because of this thread.

It's not bad. Feels like diet Votoms or Votoms light. Im about 6 episodes in. The mech designs are cool, but the plot is a bit predictable.
>>
>>13473980
Don't worry about the plot, it's seventy five episodes. There's plenty to come.

>>13473979
Nice.
>>
>>13473555
I bought the first Dougram kit.
It's a nice feel to have a kit from Dougram so I don't regret it, but I don't think I'm going to buy another one.
The articulation are not that good indeed, but it's not terrible either. It can look pretty good if you find a god pose.

The thing is it's not worth 3000 yens, compared to what you get for less in the HG line.
>>
>>13473555
Where do I get this kind of kit? I dont see anything on HLJ
>>
>>13475769
Are you talking the old diecast or the modern kits?

Modern kits can be found here and there including on Amazon, though Ironfoot is yet to be released. If you're talking about the older kits I'll just wish you luck.
>>
Any impressions from the starter guys?
>>
>>13469778
I thought I would love Dougram because I was a huge fan of 0079, Macross, Battletech and especially VOTOMS.

The problem is that I watch it at night, and it puts me to sleep. (Especially the Intro song). I'm about 30 EPs in and I decided to pause watching it for a bit.

I'm determine to finish it, even if I have to sacrifice my daylight hours. I don't think this will end up being one of my favorites, though.

I'm about roughly episode 16, they're in the and fighting.

The pacing is a bit rough but it's pretty standard fare. It's a very mediocre (dont take this the wrong way, more old mecha is fine by me) because I keep comparing it to other shows, like MSG and VOTOMS. I think Crinn is a bit of a weak character at the moment, but I still have 59 episodes to go.

I did like how he killed one of the old guard troops that he worked with before, that was a good and interesting episode, so far it seems like a bit of whitebase early shenanigans. I also have a boner for that tsundere tough girl red head.
>>
>>13477254
I think you can buy these as a pack for 40$ CDN on HLJ, but they're all paint and cement together kits. The kits have already been posted in the thread
>>13469887

Have any of you guys looked into them or perhaps the max kits are a better idea.

I've only really had experience with snap kits of HGUC. Just kinda wanna know what this guys asking too
>>
>>13486437
Barely a spoiler but episodes 20-30 is where things really start getting put into motion.
>>
>>13486459
Max Factory kits are rather akin to HGs and about the same scale too. Nothing new to any Gunpla builder at all.

>>13486437
It's all good anon. If you enjoy it you enjoy it, if you don't you don't. Soon enough you'll see the Garcia Platoon and the shenanigans he puts the Fang of the Sun through, and politicking starts getting pretty heated later on too.

>>
>>13489435
That's another thing I really liked about Dougram, generally speaking the animation and art were pretty on-point and consistent the whole way through, very little stock footage as far as I recall.
>>
>>13489534
I agree but I meant overall quality, not just the art.
Including pacing, script, animation, use of the soundtrack, etc.
>>
>>13489583
Well, yeah, that too! Just a good series from start to finish. Ah well.

75 eps was a pretty damn good run for a series like Dougram, and it's easy to see why they had it continue for so long.

>>
Since some guys had started Dougram a little while ago, any new opinions now?
>>
If we want to compare VOTOMS and Dougram:
VOTOMS had the better beginning, but fell off a tiny bit at the end (it was still good though)
Dougram had a worse beginning, and a bit of filler in the middle, but it picked up a whole lot at the final 20 episodes.

Is it worth applying to ADC to get a non shitty version of Dougram? The bakabt ver. is horrendously blurry.

>>13469866

That's some sub laserdisc quality right there.
>>
>>13532693
I watched the whole thing from the Bakabt version. It isn't unwatchable.
>>
>>13532708
The quality is the only thing stopping me from watching it immediately. I've had it downloaded since early September and it's just been sitting there. I really would like to watch it, but the quality of the rip just puts me off. I just want to be able to fully appreciate it in all its splendor. Same goes for a lot of other shows with BDs out that aren't subbed, like Layzner for example. I really want to watch them, but I want to watch them in the highest quality possible, otherwise I feel like I'm not doing the show justice, so I just put them off indefinitely. It's not like I haven't watched shitty rips before - I have. The poor visual or audio quality usually kept me from being fully engaged though. Are there really not any better sources for Dougram? Any chance for a BD release in the future, or at least a better DVD release?
>>
>>13532804
I don't know anything about BDs or DVDs but I don't doubt there's none forthcoming. Audio is okay for the rip though, and similarly you don't really notice the video quality all that much.

It gets very political as the story progress and fang of the sun become a task force from a gurilla team in a organized army where combined arms still play a crucial role in battles.
Takahashi likes to take his time, which is why many of his shows are slow paced , even his 13 ep long spiritual sequel to dougram- flag.

Worth a try in my opinion.
>>
hey dudes im one of the guys that picked up this show recently, so I'm on episode 33 and things are starting to pop off.

Now good to see Denim's intentions to colonize other planets, and now cry baby lecock wants a piece of the pie and will usurp him, like all animes do. However I can't keep thinking that there's going to be way more to these conspiracies, perhaps Votoms has kept me cautious and paranoid. I keep thinking Daisy is gonna get killed/raped etc.

The new addition to their little group, that loud mouth energetic girl is bad news I can tell.

Also, blockheads were cool but they sure came and went!
>>
>>13536878
They'll be back shortly, both in the T10B and T10C variants.

T10Bs are the red ones you first see. The brown ones are the T10Cs, improved and tougher variants which you'll be seeing much more of down the line along with perhaps Bushmen.
>>
>>13536907
Do they ever use their chin dual guns? I havent seen them fired yet.
>>
>>13536921
Yeah, along with their spotlights, but that's later on too. Spoilers!
You also get to see the exploits of one of their crews, which is a neat little mini-arc.
>>
>>13536937
thanks man, hype is real.
>>
>>13536949
Ah, don't get hyped about it, it's just stuff to come. When you roll with the punches rather than expect things to be good or bad, it comes out as a better experience.
>>
On the other hand, do get hyped a little, because in two out of those three arcs a lot of rebels get gunned down. Fun for the feddies.

I also kind of only notice it now, but with the Blockhead and later Bigfoot there's a kind of shift to two-man crew Combat armors, akin to the Crab Gunner. An interesting note. The only main exception is the Mackerel.

The twin-rotor helicopters also get to use their guns, something I never expected.

>Takahashi likes to take his time, which is why many of his shows are slow paced
It's actually because the episode count was literally expanded due to good ratings. Dougram was originally going to be 50-something episodes long iir
>>
On Episode 36

Daisy is a nurse assistant now? wut. Also how the fuck is that guy who was a rebel then betrayed his group, the guy with the green jacket and glasses who's name escapes me.. Dean? Duncan? Anyways, how the fuck is that guy not dead. Lecoque is gonna kill Denim for sure, or take away his medicine.
>>
It was a really enjoyable series throughout, but I just can't get over the feeling that the final episodes were rushed. It just seemed like they had to put together a few episodes really quickly. I felt very cheated since it had been such a long ride. Anyone else felt this way?

Destin's a slimy bastard. Daisy meanwhile is just trying to find her place in the world.

Denon and Lecoque's coming to a head may surprise you a little.

On episode 39.

Man, fuckin' Rick has had a hard life.
>>
>>13540776
Does it not play out as expected?
as expected for me is lecock kills Denon and takes his place, he's much like Rochina in that regard - looking for himself while playing all the sides.. also he's a smug blonde fuck
>>
>>13536937
Also, on episode 39 - the sandy coloured blockheads are so rad. They used their nose/chin turrets! hooah. I see the arc you've mentioned.

If they had the grunt writing of Dougram in a Votoms or MSG series, it would be my 10/10.

You'll see what happens. Lecoque's a smart bastard.

>>13540800
He's a legitimate candidate for "did nothing wrong". He's a decent man. A fair few characters fall into that, really, but things are kept good by the loads of politicking.

>>13539922
I didn't feel that way, but as noted the series was extended in length because of good ratings. I felt it ended well.

I used to think that Fang of sun dougram is seuqle to SPT. Whereas Grados is actually situated on the fringes of Astraginus galaxy. Nearby there is also Arst which must be 85000 year before Votoms.
Gasaraki and Flag are again alt AD timeline in vein of gundam 00
In short-
SPT--->FoTSD

In galaxy far far away

galient-->Events in SPT--->Votoms

alt AD
Gasaraki--->flag(spin off sequel)

I'm at episode 27, and I would like to know if the very first episode actually fits in the story or it pointless?

It's giving me a shin mazinger feel.
>>
>>13551608
It'll fit in later, but only way later.
Daisy's travels and The FoTS team's endeavor takes place in the middle of the desert travel arc.
The very beginning of the episode is a ruse.

Thank you /m/bro !

That's one wide crab .
>>
I think it's not really canon because some characters meet at a time it isn't possible.
I forgot exactly because it's been a while, but most people will tell you that.
>>
>>13556570
Destin(?) meeting with the FoTS team in the desert doesn't seem all that infeasible, nor quite what happens between Lertoff and Daisy.

Wired guns are extremely cool and they need to make a comeback.

For some reason chest of dougram mechs always reminded me of car's machine holding body( where head light are fitted)
