I'm enjoying Tiga but I wish it would go a bit deeper into its plot more often. There's a lot of interesting hooks like the ancient civilization that was destroyed and what Tiga itself really is, but at the point I'm at they've done almost nothing with it. I know that most Ultra shows don't really have much plot but it really stings here because I'm actually really interested in what's there. But then, I still have the last 15 or so episodes left, so it could end up pulling a swerve on me.

It is extremely biased, but from a certain standpoint he's not wrong. There seems to be a sort of policy enforced as to how far a series can stray from the core tenants of an Ultra series. And I think it says something that in the years since Ultraman's returned to the air, it's only recently gotten noticeably toyetic.
