Maybe, but probably not. 00 which came out way before AGE had to break it into two 25 haves so that's either because of Destiny, or just the anime industry in general.

Probably not. That was all on Tomino. A better question would be would we have a better world setting for G-Reco if Japan didn't get hit by that disaster and Tomino didn't have a political statement to make.

Honestly if it wasn't for AGE BF probably wouldn't exist. It was their utter failure at selling a serious war drama to kids and desperate need to make some money to make up for AGE's failure that they lowered themselves to making an actual anime about Gunpla themselves.

Bandai doubled down after Age with BF and Greco, a kiddie show with recycled merch and late night Tomino mech show that wasn't even named gundam for a while.
IBO is the actual sucessor, prime time weekend Gundam for modern mainstream fans.
