Actually, a suit that hugs you as close as possible is exactly what you want for a soft space-suit. Any gaps between the suit and your skin would have to be filled in with some kind of fluid or your flesh would literally expand outwards to fill them in.

I always thought the suits in this game were pretty good female pilot suits on account of covering everything, having thick boot soles and being close fitting without boob windows or clingfilm (looking at you Muvluv).

Sealed helmets/camera helmets are my thing. And bulkier suits, sometimes I like bulkier suits over skintight ones. Doesn't need to be Mk. V bulky, but I like it when I can see some thicker parts.

The helmet was always a thing, but it used to be a mentioned-only item, to be used in case the pilot was stranded in a environment bad for human health (eg. the immediate combat region after heavy metal shelling).
Last Exile had some nice pilot suits. Not very busy, sort of tight, and really appealing for the setting of the show.

Haman's crown-suit in ZZ was pretty good
I did like the default Oz grunt pressure suit.
However I really did NOT like the Oz space force Pinocchio in a pointy hat symbol.
