Getting their identity found out is my favorite part of Rider because everyone in the cast acts like a giddy schoolgirl.

There was a lot of build-up towards change. You're just seeing it being addressed all in a single episode, instead of being spaced out.

So, Chase has gone from being Proto Drive, to Chase, and now he's the newest addition to the roster as Kamen Rider Chaser.
Gotta say, I love the sleekness of the design that still managers to sneak in elements of his Chase design with that double V-fin looking crest. Seems like they're also giving him an axe too, which makes me wonder what's going to happen with his fancy gun.
Does that mean he can only use the one Signal Bike to turn into the new Kamen Rider, or will that axe of his be able to use Signal Bikes and Shift Cars too?

At the very least you can take solace in the fact that Chase would be the only one using Dead Heat once Gou gets his own mid-season upgrade... likely to happen once Shinnosuke gets his Final Form. Just watch; I bet Chase can use Dead Heat with no issues because he's just that fucking awesome. Oh, and it'd have something to do with him being Proto-Zero or some shit, maybe.
Still... poor Dead Heat; hyped up as a dangerous yet awesome upgrade for both Riders, only to be made irrelevant/obsolete with Formula's debut. Its fate is that of a hand-me-down power-up.

I didn't say he didn't deserve to die. Tomari is a police officer, so he has to play by the rules. He'll be mostly harmless behind bars, whereas a roimuide is literally a death robot that can slow time down. There is no way to hold them prisoner at the moment, and they're robots, so I don't think human rights apply. Not to mention all of the prior roimuides have caused mass panic in public, and copious amounts of property damage, in comparison to this guy's murders.

That's probably the point. The distinction is probably intended to seem morally ambiguous. One of the main villains' name is Heart, there was the 072 debacle, and one of the heroes is a Roidmude themselves.
This point will probably end up being addressed at some point, considering a lot of the initial conflict between Drive and Chaser boiled down to "you're killing my people, stop that," from both sides.

Although slow, I like how all the MOTW episodes did serve some ultimate purpose to the main plot. There aren't too many episodes where you can literally take it out of the series, and nothing of worth is lost.

I've never really been as interested in a 'villain' as much as Chase and that's probably because he's more of an Anti-hero I guess.

Easily the best episode so far.
We got to see Shinnousuke be GOOD POH-LEESE, Chase being honorable, confirmation that Chief knew more than he showed, public Rider debut, Rinna being the best girl and MAHAA going "hey how about we just kill the dude too, he's scum anyway".
All the slow but steady development is really paying off now.

How does this make any sense?
All the top Roidmudes have seen Shinnosuke transform and know he is Drive. And Brain knows Shinnosuke is part of the special crimes unit. Keeping the police in the dark does not protect them if the Roidmudes literally already know everything.
This isn't even plot induced stupidity. This is just ignoring the basic facts in the show and hoping the babies watching it do not notice.
