Just watched the first episode of this. Eh not a bad start but judging from the cheerleaders, the MC, and the ED sequence, I think this doesn't know how to take itself seriously.
Anyone else think the MC looks like Joey Jones with black hair? (look up Heroman if you don't know what I'm talking about)
That Monday girl is totally a plot device, right? Are there like 6 more of her?
Decent mecha action I guess, but animation could be better. It's also a little heavy on the expositionbut this is only the third Gundam I've watched after 00 and AGE, and I haven't even finished those yet

I'm going to give you a friendly hug before this thread descends into shit posting.
It really starts picking up after the first few episodes, stick with it. Just be prepared for the occasional weird happening and loose end
>>12433636
>but this is only the third Gundam I've watched after 00 and AGE, and I haven't even finished those yet
oh dear
>>12433636
>I think this doesn't know how to take itself seriously.
Because it doesn't need to. This show is an adventure, not a dark and serious war drama.
Anyway, make sure you pay close attention to what everyone says. A lot of people got confused about the plot, but everything is explained.

I know Klim had his hand on her vag00.Looks at how tsun-tsun he is! He almost childish, isn't he adorable?
>>12434026
Klim a qtboi
>>12433636
I think the designer for this was also the character designer of Heroman (Tamon Ota). I can kinda see the resemblance to Joey.
>>12435025
Nah, it was the same guy who did King Gainer and Eureka Seven, actually.
>>12435025
Otha is working on the manga adaptation.
From the synopsis:
>The Capital Tower, an orbital elevator, connects earth and space. Due to its role in supplying Earth’s power by transferring Photon Batteries from space, it is worshiped with a religious fervor
So space elevator religions are a thing in the future?
>>12436919
It provided the power that let humans recover from late UC, so you can understand why people respect it.
>>12436919
It's more like a tool to avoid all the resources and war-related shit that happened in the past, likemass environmental decay and people having to soylent green an entire race because of famines.
>>12433636
Here. Take this handy guide with you.
As for your complaint about the show not taking itself seriously; it's set in a world where "war" is a completely foreign concept to everyone. A major part of the story is seeing how characters react as they slowly come to the realize what war is actually like.
>>12433636
>animation could be better
Are you blind? G-Reco is without a doubt the BEST animated Gundam tv series made. Some scenes even approach OVA-levels of quality.
You're probably referring to the art style.
>>12436960
The first few episodes did have some wonky animation here and there.
It definitely gets better as it goes on, OP.
Btw whatever happened to the trap thing? Was there a reason for the character or was it just Tomino's silly fun?
>>12436976
Why would it turn into anything? Maybe if it was 50 episodes long we would get some info.
It's shit.
>Characters
For starters we have Bell-end, an overpowered incestous idiot that delves into pointless angst that is completely avoidable and only serves to make a situation worse despite telling us he is a hero and a good protagonist. He ends up unlikable because he does nothing to further the plot or better himself and everyone cheered when he died because he was such a shit.
Raraiya is a retarded little girl that only serves to be a plot device to make the show take a turn for the worse. She has no character outside of being a retard.
Mask exists to "fix" the plot and move it along. No character development and exits the show as he entered.
The side characters are boring stereotypes with no change, development, or impact on the plot.
The villains are one note, predictable, and boring with little motivations other than being mustache twirlingly evil.
>Plot
Space batteries. If you don't know what is wrong with this already, you are an idiot. But aside from that nothing happens or gets accomplished.
>Animations
G-Reco had terrible animation. It was fucking recycled "Swoop in and beam spam." The animation was rigged and sterile which made everything come off as slow and sluggish and creates a dissonance between the narrative and the animation.
>Music
Only May J saves this shit one point when it is otherwise filled with bad singers and uninspired tracks
>>12437584
>G-Reco had terrible animation.
>>12437618
>CG shit that literally takes zero effort to make

You could at least spoilered that part geez
Sad thing is this could easily be a person's real thoughts rather than a troll. It's just too believable. The only flaw is why the fuck does he think we care about his blogging.

>blog
Don't have one
>>12437910
Except it isn't a spoiler, because it's a lazy copy-paste of an equally lazy piece of criticism of a different show.
>>12436960
Pan and zoom shots on stills and wobbling paper cut outs is not my idea of good animation.
Alsp dat ED. Oh the 'animation'.
>>12440757
It's called budget allocation
>>12440766
disregard Towsanga, acquire Towsangan
>>12440766
Greco is like a lesson in how to do this
It uses scenes where it as to be cheap to it's advantage like the floating scene. If it ever reuses shots I had no idea. It knows exactly when it needs budget to show shit off and when down time is okay but still gives those characters little stuff to make them interesting and many times important to understand shit
Shame it'll take 15 years till people get it
Just watched ep 2. So Aida's plan is to cover the Earth in solar panels, but Bell won't let her do that because Earth-
The museum felt out of place. Did Tomino think this will be the last Gundam?
Why is Noredo so jealous of Aida? They've never met before, and Aida only met Bell just yesterday. Are they really resorting to the jealous clingy girl cliche?
How does Aida expect Bell to revive her captain? He was shot with a laser that melted through the cockpit! I'm pretty sure he's not getting up after that.

>I think this doesn't know how to take itself seriously.
Oh you'll see its three for contrast.

they were lovers, she was hysterical
and Noreado has a ridiculous amount of love for the Bell

The central dogma of the SU-Cord religion is that in eons past, a war caused the complete collapse of Universal Century civilization, which had spread out across the stars. (this is when having watched all of UC is helpful, because seeing how late-late-UC tech works in relation to what is in shows set in UC gives real weight to Bellri's point)
That collapse culminated in the destruction of all of humanity's space colonies, the near complete inhabitability of the Earth, and resource deprivation to the point where cannibalism became institutionalized.
So the SU-cord religion forbade the use of advanced technology and restricted power generation from photon batteries on Earth to those sent by citizens on the moon (no more spoilers here).
In other words, Aida wants to free the world from the shackles of an oppressive religion, whereas Bellri understands that it is because of this religion that humanity has survived.
>>12442179
>The museum felt out of place
That's because you've never seen any shows set in Universal Century.
>Why is Noredo so jealous of Aida?
Because she's the first to see that Bellri has actually fallen in love. Also, she's a teenager.
