Whats the point of dat army-gear in a plane, Why cant they wear something like airline pilots ... is there any advantage/disadvantage?

>Tell me /m/, why does he wear the army gear?
>>

Pilot suits have air bladder that squeeze your legs, in order to inhibit blood flow away from your head due to high g maneuvers. They're made out of nomex, a flame retardant cloth, so that your clothes don't burn and stick to you in a fire. Then you've got your harnesses and web gear for carrying shit on your person, and boots to walk to and from your (crew chief's) plane.

A skintight spacesuit makes more sense actually. Given a harder fiber and better materials, the ability to move around in confined spaces is a priority. The only reason we US folks have the bulky stuff is because we don't have a better system yet. And no serious space program anymore (Let's face it, we're not getting to Mars under the current administration. Not even kinda. Probably not for the next two.)

Carbon nanotubes are a thing, theoretically, and could make the skintight spacesuit a reality. It would be better armor than kevlar, and should have enough density to keep Astronaut X from explosive decompression.
>>
>>12397750
If they're a lot like female basketball players, I would definitely love hangin with 'em. Lady B-ballers are an awesome breed. All Amazon and feminine at the same time. It was a rather enchanting experience getting to student tutor a few last year ( she was an Irish exchange student, whoot!). So a few were willing to flirt with me, which was nice since I am un-fucking-dateable.

They're tough, but they're still very very much female, which is fucking cool. And the ones I met like to shoot and camp out. 'Twas Paradise. Also aggressive in many more ways than one, I must add.

Not about the one I've met. Case in point, Liza Dennehy, said Irish lass.

Could shoot a three-pointer as the clock hits zero, squat at 150, shoot 30.06 and could also waltz, cook French cuisine, and walk( and I mean WALK, sweet Jesus) in a six inch heel. This girl was also 5'11. Green eyes (deep green, like raw emerald or a coastal sea), coal-black hair, a voice like warm honey and a laugh like a fine silver bell.

...I was in love, so I may be biased. I also need to call her one of these days.

Lockon 2.0 wasn't that great at it either, so they ended up making Cherudim and Zabanya closer to an assault type.

It's just dumb that 00 S2 went with the "replacement twin" route. It was stupid and one of several things S2 did wrong.
>>
>>12403205
I dunno, it was one of the few parts of S2 I thought was well done, because a big part of his character was that he wasn't just a replacement of Lockon 1.0, even if that's why he was chosen.

He had his own character and style and chafed under people trying to treat him like he was his brother. It wasn't, like, the deepest, best story, but compared to how other things went, I still think it holds up on its own.

OP !

I wish to prove that skintight suit that might be considered sexy, can also be first and foremost practical as pilot suit ! Only assuming some minor sci-fi thingy and even in light of >>12396904 information

You see, getting to space is challenging because every gram count, living-space is also likely to be scarce for this reason as pressurized space is costly. Furthermore in absence of gravity to hold things down, you and object are going to float, the more complicated and loose a clothe is, the more likely you are to get caught in things.

All those statement comfort that the BEST space clothes will be tight and form-fitting clothes.

But how does it mesh with >>12396904 information ?

Well, firstly SPACE-pocket are going to be different, preferring tight-fixation rather than free-floating object in clothes, an adaptable harness can be used for this.
On the question of PILOT suit, G-Force dampening system are needed, I infer that this is likely through the use of smart tightening material.
Also, if the suit isn't vacuum-rated, such skintight are best to get fast into another one that is.

As an addendum, don't be fooled by their appearance, high-heels of the space future can be robotic spring to move efficiently in zero-gravity environment.
And all the above would obviously be double-compatible with gravity environment.

Therefor I declare this skintight catsuit PRACTICAL.

Of course everything, yes everything, I said do apply to men as well, no sexism here.

What do you know ! It's futuristic tech, don't it fit all acceptable requirement within futuristic expectation ?
Plus, a stealth suit wouldn't have brightly colored part.

I will not stand baseless claim that skintight looking clothes can't be marvel of practicality !

>>12407727
> Most of those zippers and buckles don't seem to serve any purpose either
> Seem
What if you just can't make sense of it ? What if this suit is merely an example.
Would old pre-space suit like >>12396946 or >>12396757 make sense in the far space future ? No sir !

> Also, why the heels?
Explained above as futuristic robotic spring to help move in zero-g spatial environment.
I'll go as far as saying than with sufficiently advanced robotic it might be very practical under gravity as well.
>>
>>12407855
I've still got to disagree. If technology is good enough to somehow wear skintight suits into space, then there's no reason that larger, more conventional space suits wouldn't exist. A skintight layer, made out of some futuristic material, might be able to protect you from the vacum, but what about radiation? And if one layer of the skintight stuff somehow protects you from radiation, and space debris, which is deadly, there's no reason more protection wouldn't help.
