I think the consensus on 0079 is that both the series and movies are worth watching , but you can just watch the movies if the older animation puts you off (and you're a goddamn plebe if you do). The movies are worth watching for new animation and glorious 1080p QUALITY.

Well, not only is that a single movie, it's a dumb compilation movie that doesn't even manage to do that. How they managed to fuck up a couple of already short OVAs, I'll never understand. It's like choosing to watch a couple minutes of a movie over choosing to watch the entire movie. And who doesn't have time for a movie? Only good thing to come of it is that picture.

I have watched the series' 6 times each and the movies once each. No one should ever watch those shitty movies. The redone audio is horrible and they cut out 2/3 of the plot, including all side characters. There is no new animation or content so there is literally no reason to ever watch them.
