I think the Zorro/Garo combination was the coolest thing ever. I was like:

It's interesting to note that it didn't really do any special damage to Mendoza. My main problem is that Mendoza didn't really care about the final battle, when it felt like he would've easily won if he was remotely invested in it.
Also, there was no reason for things to get this far. All they needed to do was to go "Fuck it." and put a sword through his heart. It's not like they didn't have plenty of chances! Also, how did he survive getting swallowed the first time?

If I had to pick a scene from outside TV series, it would be either Kiba vs Garo from KIBA Gaiden or Zero vs Ring from ZERO BLACK BLOOD.

Well, in the novels and other early printed material they state explictly that Garo is not the only Golden Knight. However, I personally think that it's questionable wether that initial concept remains true. For example, if you refer to >>12350300 it's hard to tell how seriously one should take the colors in that scene, considering the Knight shown is just a blurred Zero made to look golden.

That meeting in Makai Senki showed there are plenty of mook knights in Japan, so there has to be plenty more throughout the world. I'm pretty sure horrors are a world wide thing, at least. Otherwise Japan is hella unlucky.

Well, Valiante is pretty much Spain, but as far as we know, HnK's continuity is different from the toku's. It at least shows that Makai practitioners exist all over the world.
Then again, put it this way. If Garo were, say, an American production, we'd only ever see Knights in, like, LA or New York and it would always seem like the most powerful and dangerous Horrors just happen to manifest there. Only difference would be we'd probably see a more diverse range of ethnicity among the practitioners.

Gai is gorgeous. He's one of my favorite Makai Knight designs.
Zen is kind of boring in comparison to Gai and Lost Shine Garo. In gold you can easily mistake him for Garo Sho.

It was a bit upsetting that Ryga didn't get some kind of special CG-laden super form in the final battle. He'll probably get one in Gold Storm, though.
Now that I think about it, that's three seasons now that have a plot about restoring the Garo armor's natural form.

It's at least mo-cap right? The movement was way too natural when they were being flashy at the beginning of the fight, but the camera was too crazy for it to be real people. Garo's CGI can be wonky at times but I find it hard to tell when there aren't real people and backdrops on the same scene to compare things to.

Garo hasn't really been "successful" in a while. YamiTera allegedly has the best ratings since the original series, but the franchise gets almost all of its money from pachinko machines.

Inga Horrors still retain the mouth thing during human form, though. Besides, those lame bald masks were already ditched during YamiTera. They replaced them with just make-up (which looked much better) for episode 19.

Nope. Aparently, Horrors in their transformed form will still be all-CG. Besides, they also used the good old basic Horror suit in YamiTera. Furthermore, as it was discussed in the previous thread I think, at this point it's probably better to go for CG to get an overall monster-like Horror that is actually able to fight and doesn't blatantly look like a disguissed person to the general eye.

Fun fact: The bigwigs of the GARO production team have never referred to it as a "tokusatsu" series, they use the term "action drama."
YamiTera wasn't even the first GARO production to go the full-CGI route. It was RED REQUIEM.
