Anyone else read "Blame!"? It was interesting even though sometimes it felt like it lost focus in some areas. Any other manga similar, besides KOS?

everyone who liked Blame killed themselves after Sidonia got popular. If you're a fan of Nihei's works read Biomega and Abara or his oneshot of Blame characters being students in school with the moe gun. It's pretty great.
Blame! was all kinds of Awesome. The landscapes, the style, the dialogue. I kept at it chapter after chapter for hours with no end.

Blame! is unique, but Nihei's other works and oneshots are generally somewhat similar to it. You could try Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm and see if it's to your taste, though its quite different in tone/style.
It sucks, if this was animated (properly, I'm not counting that shity OVA) most people would call it to edgy. Stuff like this was what got he to like Japanese anime and manga. It was darker and grittier than most of the american cartoons. It disappoints me how unimagitive anime has become.
6 Chapters in, and this shit is fucking awful.

Seriously, though, Blame! is my favorite.
Since KOS has done well, and we're getting a little peek at Blame in the next season, I'm really hoping they decided to do some OAVs or something.

sorry, guess it's not for you
it's not really going to change that much if you keep reading
Loved Blame!.
Not a fan of Sidonia, but i'm not bothered by attention being taken from Blame!, since it really felt like a complete piece to me that didn't really need any more expanding on than it got anyways.
I found it ridiculous and slightly pretentious.
Is that one box shaped rifle with the cross around the barrel from Armored Core 3 a reference to Blame, or is it the other way around?

How?

>kill themselves after sidonia got popular
no it was when the art in Biomega went askew.

>everyone who liked Blame killed themselves after Sidonia got popular
nope, and Sidonia is pretty good

Do you have a picture? I've never seen it and now I want to.
Talking about Blame!:

An awesome dialogue

Obligatory.
Love Blame, Love sidonia, Love nihei. Hyped for Sidonia season two on multiple levels.
In terms of atmosphere and scenery porn (besides any Nihei's work) maybe only Dorohedoro.

I chalk up Sidonia to 'style' but why does Biomega just flat out have worse faces than Abara?
Why does Nihei think eyeballs are so far apart? In like every one of his manga.
He could really stand to learn about the 'third eye' concept in facial anatomy.
i love his textures and creatures but his characters all kind of look like they have fas

Fun fact: the author worked as an assistant to Nihei.

Both authors also have a clothing line at MHz
I've only read Biomega and Sidonia, but did Nihei get some kind of amazing comic lessons between the two? I couldn't follow Biomega at all - the plot, the cuts between locations, or which character I was looking at and whose side they were on. Yet Sidonia doesn't really have the same issues.
>>11711925
No, he simply doesn't use the story to expose the same relationship between characters and space.
>>11711230
Well, considering that all his settings have advanced biotech and cloning, maybe it will help you sleep better at night thinking that it was a choice of the character's ancestors.

To be honest, I only had that problem with the final volume, and I think by then he just didn't really give a damn and wanted to end the thing.
In Sidonia's case, he probably changed up his story telling due to it being aimed at a wider audience. That certainly wasn't a problem I found while reading Abara or Blame though, so I dunno.
