What I can tell you is that I read the book in your OP a few months back when I was taking a course on Aesthetics - it was pretty fun, not really agreeable if you don't think like Schopenhauer.

Read Zizek's books on art, Pasolini's Heretical Empiricism, Deleuze's On Cinema. That's what I like, hope you find something you appreciate. Oh, and there's also an essay called On the Modern System of the Arts or something like that which is pretty interesting if you want to challenge your concept of Art as an immutable category
