I know I have been bamboozled when I googled the author "Stephen J. Sniegoski" and he has less results that my obscure porn fetish.
It's non-non-fiction, but "The Third Time's the Teatime" by Paul Butfield is remarkably insightful about this.
Look into his other books as well.
