Is this guy a fucking oracle or some kind of insider? It's fucking scary everything he writes about starts materializing after a few years.
Also scary Russians thread.

What, isn't he known in your countries? I think he is one of the hottest contemporary Russians along with this guy.

Strongly recommending both of them. If you like dystopian stuff with crazy Philip K. Dick-like ideas, with a bit of mysticism and conteo stuff thrown in too, while still remaining high literature, then go for them. They are like Orwell/Burgess/Ellis on acid.

Yes btw, I dunno which book is that tho because it's in Russian.

So a generic cyberpunk?

Pelevin is good, early Pelevin is better though. Omon Ra should be recommended to everyone who wonder what was wrong with the Soviet Union.

Gorchev, but he isn't translated as far as I know. Which is a shame, he is easily the best post-soviet Russian writer.
>>
Who the fuck is this guy, and req?
>>
He's Victor (or Viktor, I dunno I'm an ignorant Anglo) Pelevin. I've only read Omon Ra, but I loved it. An anon earlier aptly claimed that if you're curious about how and why the soviets failed, that novel is an interesting take on their national ideology.

But now that I've provided a helpful answer, here's my obligatory rude answer: are you fucking blind?OP's picture clearly has the authors name as the image name, and not only that but the post above yours said his name TWICE, and if that all still wasn't enough, they also mentioned the name of one of his works, which itself would have been ample information to work with.

I'm sorry, but people on this website are so fucking lazy. You express interest in an author but can barely manage to read through a 6 post thread on your own. How do you use a computer? How do you even make it through a book? I'm disappointed in you man, think for your fucking self.
