hi guys, im new to 4 chan...

how do you become an avid reader without becoming a complete bookish shut-in or a pretentious hipster?

reading, as intellectual as it seems relative to other activities, is starting to look like just another medium for consumption/time-wasting

is it even worth it to start?

You don't become 'avid' without becoming a 'shut-in'. The key is to care about reading more than you care about what people who don't read say about you.

Of course, you could always just read outdoors, if you don't mind doing that.
