Literally pointless, everyone back then was a god fearing moron. Pre enlightenment writing is important from a historical perspective but from a literary perspective it is worse than trash. All those stories were folk tales for peasants dressed up by the idle rich, you're better off reading the wikipedia articles. I can honestly say that literally nothing written before 1780 or so is better than a modern work like Infinite Jest for example, just a whole lot of retards grappling with concepts they don't understand.
