I suspect that's one of those dumb false quote macros but even it's not, meh. She's my favorite american author and I prefered her prose to her poetry but putting aside whether or not she ever actually said it, I understand the ethos there but I disagree. Intricacies of meter may not facilitate the kind of writing Plath wanted to produce but I'll defend its aesthetic value to the bitter end.
