I don't think of this as an interpretation since it is the explicitly stated happenings of the play.
The ghost tells Hamlet what happened to his father. Since the ghost exceeds the possibility of human understanding he cannot be sure it is telling the truth so he endeavors to learn the truth himself which he never does. His reaction at the play is no real proof, especially considering it is easy to imagine Claudius (due to the very strange acting of Hamlet) wishes to kill him and take the crown (a very reasonable interpretation of the play within the play), which can explain his (Claudius') actions at the play. So the play does nor provide truth. Claudius' confession is spoken unheard by Hamlet. So Hamlet never learns the truth.
His general seeming crazyness is merely the deep state of epistemological doubt he is thrown into because of the ghost.
The change in him begins when the actors arrive where he marvels at the actors abilities to feel so deeply about something that is merely pretend. This change culminates with his conversion to a Nietzschean egoism when he sees all the soldiers going off to die for nothing. He is transfixed by their eagerness to die for a lie. With this new way of thinking of acting he decides to kill Claudius.
