how long did it take you to adapt from typing with a computer keyboard to typing equally fast with those small round keys? they seem like a pain in the ass to hit

What a thread.

shameless self bump
Is there nobody interested in these glorious pieces of engineering cleverness?
Aww.

Not very long since I learned young, but I type using a terrible amalgamation of proper typing and hunt and peck.

Where do you get ribbons?
>>
this is like a thread on /g/ about people posting their flip phones

actually using a typewriter today is just weird fetishism

I don't know. There's some interesting discipline in not being able to cut and paste or make universal find/replaces. And no spelling correction! Type writing offers a thoughtless spontaneity that word processing can't imitate.

Still got my great grandfather's typewriter. It's damn near impossible to find ribbons for it.
Used to use it for school.
Love the way there is no correction other than "X"ing a word out or using white-out.
It weighs like 30-40 pounds with it's wooden carrying case...

>pic not related -- just a funny typewriter scene from Naked Lunch.
