Because I, being a man of sophisticated taste, refuse to partake in the reading of such trash.
I, instead, prefer to read the deep works of Dostoyevsky and Aristotle.
I'm sure if you check our starter kit or speak to a trip like Constantine, your taste will be improved tenfold.

1) I started it but dropped out around a third of the way through the first book give or take
2) I don't regret doing this because it enables me to tell other people not to start it, it's like a public service

2) Net positive. It had weak parts but overall it was pretty good for mindless fun.

2) More positive than negative although from books 6-10 I was doubting this.
I read some of the first book and it lost my interest. Maybe it's an example of Seinfeld syndrome but it really seemed like the most generic fantasy imaginable.
