King writes okay spooky fodder and Fatman didn't ask to be treated like the next Tolkien. And while Fatty's no genius I think he deserves better than he gets here. The show has really done a number on his reputation by at the same time making him really popular and exposing the world to a bastardized version of his biggest work.
