It helped me get a reference on Mike Tyson's Mysteries.
Not much, mainly because I was already pretty familiar with the concepts of buddhism before reading it.
I honestly thought more about Hegel than Buddha when I read it. Hesse's habit of using ideological conflict as a way of advancement definitely makes me think of Absolute Spirit. Dialectics, baby.
It wasn't a life-changing experience, but it is an interesting read for sure.
buddhism never convinced me
liked the book for the prose (though I read a translation)

Obviously you weren't, because the book wasn't about Buddhism and has very few Buddhist concepts in it.
