He literally just reads the back of the book and the last chapter. This isn't even a debate, it's exactly what he says himself.

He's everything that is wrong with reading as a hobby.

I would say the this man is the sole reason that sites like GoodReads went to shit.

Hundreds of people doing this shit and putting it down that they read the book. You've got people claiming to have read 200+ books a year now because of him.
