Could you give some examples of books that fit the "cosmic horror" genre?

Are you talking about Lovecraft?

Mostly Harmless is pretty much cosmic horror

like what the fuck, it was one the funniest and most depressing books I read in months
>>
>>8123456
cosmic horror is bullshit that avoids the uncomfortable horrors of the human condition, and is one of many banes on genre fiction. If you like it you're probably reading for the wrong reasons.

I'm not losing as many brain cells as you are investing in this tripe, try again.

Look at this pleb thinking there's a disconnect between the human condition and fear of the unknown.

You're the one reading for the wrong reasons, go back to r-ddit and pretend to be an intellectual there.

Fear of the unknown is one very minor subset of the human condition, focusing on it too hard as genre has done blurs the lines between concrete and human.

All in all what's there to be said about it that hasn't already been said. I find cosmic horror totally devoid of any kind of inspiration.

"A Colder War" by Charles Stross, from his collection "Toast" is pretty neat. the superpowers try to weaponize the Old Ones and things go badly.
